Re: On the magazine finger rest
I do agree that what you wear makes a lot of difference. I am still trying to figure out what is the best without being too obvious: I am not ready to join the Hawaiian shirt club just yet.

Re: On the magazine finger rest
I wear it on the 8 o'clock position. My main concern is not fit: short of it weighting my pants down (I really need a better belt), sometimes I do forget it is there. What concerns me is when I bend over: it just feels that it imprints.

Re: 9x18 barrels for Makarov
Main reason is that I do not want to have to stockpile yet another caliber. I do not want to have lots of boxes of ammo but only a few per caliber. Focus. I already have 9x19 and 9x18... and 32 but that was for the Dreyse. Even my Tokarev is 9x19. That said I have no problem waiting, but I do now re...

9x18 barrels for Makarov
Yesterday I bought a imez single stack commercial MakarovFor a great price. Only problem it is a 38 cal one instead of 9x18. Where can I get a barrel for it? I used to see them by the on on gun broker and aimsurplus and other sites but now they seem to be gone. And yet I see tons of brand new 38cal ...

On the magazine finger rest
I think someone here said the finger rest in the P64 mag likes to imprint. If I bend over, that happens to me; could I be doing something wrong?
The proposed workaround was to trim/round the finger release off. Since I do not want to destroy original parts, is there another way?

One in the chamber, hammer up: how?
Correct me if I am wrong but if you want to load a round in the chamber and then bring the hammer back up you rack the slide and then either 1) Bring the hammer back up manually and ever so slowly (which might be interesting depending on how far is the firing pin from the percussion cap at rest) 2) ...

NRA life membership
On the highroad forum (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=628207) there is a thread about getting a NRA life membership for $300. It boils down to finding a lifetime member to be the sponsor, getting his/hers/its name/membership number/zip code, and calling NRA with that info and a credit c...

Re: Polish Mag 98
Resurrecting this old thread, I myself got one of these guns. Before I shot, I let a friend of mine who does competitive shooting have at it. He sent me back a picture of a paper target with the bull's eye all but cut away. I believe he did that at 15 yards. He did say he was quite impressed with th...

Re: P64 strength
By slide flying off you mean it tearing itself apart first, right? I mean, I cannot see how it would escape otherwise.

Re: FMJ or HP in 9x18?
So yesterday I went to the range and shot 2 of the buffalo bores in the P64. I alternated them between 95gr Fiocchi FMJ in a single mag -- FBFBF -- so I could compare the kick between the two different rounds. It might be just be me, who I must warn is not built like the US Marines from the ads or m...
