Re: Turk Mausers... any good?

Turks are good Mausers , I have a 1943 K Kale that has the slickest action of any of the other Mausers I own. $185 seems a bit steep to my, but I bought mine a few years ago for under $100. Go over to Surplusrifleforum.com and they have an entire section on the Turks that will overwhelm you with info.

Re: Peening the slide

Welcome Justafixer! That was a very informative & appreciated first post. I can see from the pictures in the thread where the hammer has peened/worn the area on the decocker & bottom of the slide, and I think your "fix" is a good idea. Anything you can do to smooth up the actions o...

BRAND NEW Colt Police Positive

My neighbor & his father-in-law just left me in awe! The father-in-law bought this from an elderly widow who found it while going through her deceased husbands effects. She said no guns in the house! The serial number dates it to 1966, and she gave him the new Outers cleaning kit & box of sh...

Re: New sights for the P-64?

Surgical & time consuming is right! I had another thought today...the front sights on Glocks are secured by a small nut on the underneath of the slide. I replaced the beat up plastic sights on my old Gen 1 G17 with metal ones...so my other thought is, how about drilling an appropriate sized hole...

New sights for the P-64?

In looking at this pistol, a thought came to mind on a new sight installation. Let me run it by you all for some feedback. The drift adjustable rear sight is in itself situated in a larger channel that could suffice for a rear sight. If the rear sight was trimmed to the full width of the rear channe...

Re: What's your favorite canted IWB holster for your P64?

I was going to post this as a new thread, but since Legally Armed asked the question first :hi: here are pics of my new DeSantis SOF-Tuck IWB. The stock number from Midway is the same for the Colt Government Model 380 & the Walther PPK & PPKS, and as you can see fits the P-64 perfectly. It i...

Re: Misfires with Silver Bear

Very good idea to use the inflator tip to depress the safety detent! I dis-assembled mine last week to stone the tip of the detent to allow the safety/decocker to work smoothly, and had to struggle to do this with a screwdriver.

Re: Homemade Strut Washer

Good idea, thanks for the tip. I thought I was going to need it! Yesterday I took the slide apart & stoned/polished the cylinder for the decocked & the tip & sided of the detent pin...what a bear to get back together! Got home from work today & my Wolff springs are here, so I dis ass...

Re: P-64 First time out

All I will do is round the hammer, it's not like I will be running hundreds of rounds thru this pistol. If I use it for an inexpensive carry gun, it will get shot on a regular basis, but 50-100 rounds a month will not give me cause for concern! I don't think a grip mod would be my cup of tea, I don'...
