OT: Happy Holidays

I was raised to hunt. Some my earliest memories was sitting on top of my fathers shoulders while he hunted rabbits. With my short legs I could not stay up with him and his friends. I a one time reloaded for the '06, 41mag ruger, .243,.303british. As time went by I quit. Don't know why. My state came...

My understanding is with the safety on the hammer is blocked, in case the weapon is dropped. However my safety is a little difficult to use. It's according where I'm at, but I do carry some with the safety off and one in the tube. Also on the forum you will find a lot of good info. I finally bought ...

Makarov VS P-64 My Observations

I don't have that many handguns anymore. But bought the P-64 for a carry weapon and thats what it is. I have a P91DC Ruger that I keep in the bedroom and the RV when traveling. I bought a paddle holster for the 64 a couple of weeks ago. Like it very much. Also use a fanny pack. Of course as already ...

Holster fit

Well it pays to belong. I have not been totally happy with my carry options. I Finally had one of those small fabric holster with the metal clip on the back. The clip was so strong I never could easily just place it on my belt or pants. So I carried it in a fanny or camera bag. I was on the west sid...

Grip Question

Hi Spot,
My grips are stock and do not have the thumb rest. I have large hands. The problems at first was the slide getting the web between thumb and finger. I watch my grip now and do not have any trouble.

Welcome to our forum. Most disregard the P64 due to its DA. Search the forum and you will find a easy answer to that. Have not heard much on how to tame the recoil. I bought mine for CCW and it is about the smallest weapon with the biggest caliber. Most however don't spend the day at the range with t...

Education, but that has limited results. See my earlier post. The next day after the TV report I went to the cafe where we sometimes have breakfast. Saw some folks at the different table and stopped to say "Good Morning". Well the talk was about guns and carrying guns. This one lady was ve...

I have a group of retirees that I have breakfast with about 3 times a week. One is a retired Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper. According to him to carry he has to quailify like a active trooper would. He hasn't shot his weapon since retiring and has no plans too. Therefore he is not good to carry... ...

Shoulder holster

As stated you pay your money and take the chance. I haven't seen anything yet, that for me would fit every occasion. This last summer I did some traveling with my RV. Dressed in T-shirt and gym shorts(2 front pockets). So I got a camera bag. Pocket things(billfold, etc.) in one side, weapon in the o...
