Re: FEG SMC 918 and SMC 380
As far as I know they are the same except for the caliber. $240 is probably fair for N.I.B. condition, although it seem a bit high to me. Extra mags would bring a premium. The factory six round mags are hard to find, though the seven rounders for the PA-63 will work just as well except for concealme...

Re: FEG SMC 918
If you look at the side-by-side pic at the URL below you'll notice that the trigger is further to the back of the trigger guard on the P-64 than on the FEG. With a shorter trigger travel the P-64 must have a heavier trigger pull to deliver the same amount of energy to the hammer in double-action (tr...

Re: my problem with hammer springs..............
You can try a lighter hammer spring. These small pistols pretty much use the same diameter hammer springs, some are longer and stiffer than others. You can mix 'n match the hammer springs and use small washers, a piece of of tubing or whatever to shim a shorter spring to work where a longer one was ...

Re: PA 63 Question
The P-64, Makarov, PA-63 and other similar pistols all have rebounding hammers. That is the hammer is pulled back a slight distance away from the firing pin by the hammer spring when the hammer is at rest. Except for the FEG pistols a safety notch on the hammer then engages the sear, preventing full...

Re: Cracked Marschal Grips
Off topic I know, but I would love to find a way to get a FEG R78 into the USA.

Good to hear from you. How is your daughter? I think the last I heard she was having to deal with medical problems. Hope she is back to normal and running around wearing you all out!

Re: Dilemma for 2010
Wish we could get these over here. They come up occasionally in Europe but cannot be imported as they do not meet the BATFE's "points" count for imported handguns. I don't know if they were classified C&R if that would override the "points" system. http://sunblest.net/gun/Feg...

Re: walther ppk hammer spring on a p-64?
I wouldn't think they'd be related. Lightening the hammer spring has the same effect as lightening the recoil spring though. Less resistance to the rearward movement of the slide. Are you using the strongest recoil spring that Wolff sells for your P-64?

Re: Hair trigger
Do you mean that this one has a lighter single-action trigger pull than you other P-64's?
It so, are the others stock or modified with lighter hammer springs?

Re: walther ppk hammer spring on a p-64?
It may be too light for reliable ignition. You can try shimming it with small washers or a piece cut from the appropriate diameter metal tubing if need be. I don't think these hammer springs are rocket science, they either provide the hammer with enough energy to force the firing pin forward with su...

Black powder pistols
Some of the reproductions from Italy are capable of accepting a center-fire metallic cartridge conversion cylinder so that you can shoot them as either a cartridge gun with mild loads or as a black powder muzzle-loader. I am assuming you're talking about revolvers, not single shot pistols.

Field stripping is done by pulling a frame mounted disassembly block down and moving the slide rearward, upward and forward out of the frame.
