any parts available?
A P64 is not that expensive to order one from the suppliers that have them. Not sure if J&G still has them or not. I would buy one from one of these guys, then if your still wanting another you could trade for the one needing to be fixed up. If you can fix it great, if you can't, you now have so...

Question: Thumb rest or not and what year to buy?
I could be mistaken but the thumb rest is on particular imported handguns to "sporterize" them. Basically they could not be imported into the U.S. without the thumbrest. That has changed. If you look at one with a thunb rest, the left grip, (with the rest) will look new and the right grip ...

Thats not to bad. It might do better. Check out this forum for some tips on changing hammer springs and recoil springs. You might want to play with that a little. A lot of the folks here leave their P64 stock. It does break in after several hundred rounds and as always,"practice makes perfect&q...

Marschal CZ82 Wood Grip caution
Mine did the same thing, this was a year ago. The grips looked good but they were thin. The CZ 82's magazine stack causes the grip to be larger. To make the wood so it wouldn't crack would mean the grip would get wider. Thats all I can figure. He does stand behind his product and will replace them. ...

Getting to know the P64 (longish)
oakchas, Thats funny, "kill me quick". Really, I believe the 9X18 is enough gun for concealed carry. There are plenty of .380's out there doing the job. A 9X18 is better still. The size of a P64 is perfect for CC. I agree with dickfunk. Shoot that thing. There are all kinds of quick trips ...

Getting to know the P64 (longish)
Oakchase, I guess the term"concealed" is what needs to be considered along with all the other things you have mentioned. The P64 has a nice slim profile and is very accurate. These are good things. The round is on the small side. This should get some responses. Place a .40 SW next to a 9X1...

new to me Mak
6X6, Good deal! Watch the rear site screw. The little devil tends to want to back out. Lose that and your screwed, so to speak. Really , they do tend to back out and if you lose it, you won't be able to replace it with something from the hardware store. Maybe loctite? Makarov's are real nice and it ...

I use an Uncle Mikes size 1 side kick IWB. Its soft and easy on the finish of my P64. Its all personnel preference as to which one you will like. Some guys go for leather, some plastic, I don't know what the sidekick is made of but its probably manmade materials. Its still very easy on the finish an...

issues during first visit to range
CSP, Seems odd to have those issues with Silver Bear ammo. Never really had an issue myself with Silver Bear or any other ammo feeding into the P64. Hmmmm. You could of course try and use a dremel tool with some polish on the ramp but before I would try that, did you pull the magazine apart and clea...

p64 reliability
Nothing comes to mind but that doesn't mean that something can't break. I haven't had mine too long, about a year or more and I have never had a problem. Mine came to me looking new so for all intents and purposes thats the way I treat it. Its new. Carry it and shoot it and enjoy. I haven't had maga...

DA trigger pull on CZ70
Big end faces towards the frame, should be self explanatory. The large end of the spring is what catches the mag and keeps it from falling out of the mag well when the release is pushed. Small end is what gets held in place by the spring retainer. It should only want to go back together one way. Sor...

DA trigger pull on CZ70
tman11787, I think you might be referring to a spring that is set behind the hammer spring retainer (refer to pshooter's diagram) By the way, thanks pshooter for the diagram. Its a spring that keeps the magazine from dropping completely out of tha mag well. It is held in place by the tension of the ...

papabear, Just received an e-mail that my Rainier bullets and .45 cal die set will be arriving. Powder is not hard to find and I was fortunate to have found some large pistol primers this past January. Looks like I'm on the road to re-loading for my 1911. Have been collecting lead wheel weights and ...

Sometimes, nothing happens
sla011308, Met you in a gun shop and we chatted about your problem, I believe I did something similar when the trigger bar came out of mine as well. Its not the trigger spring but it is not installed correctly at the disconnector arm. I remembered doing this myself when I first changed the springs. ...
