Re: Looked at a Taurus PT111
(cont.) of the PT-111 have they sold in the last 20 +/- years that they have to service or exchange? If you think of it from the pure logistical side 4-6 months is not too bad. Least your gonna get a new gun out of the deal.

Re: Looked at a Taurus PT111
There is a recall on the PT-111 but it does not affect the Millenium G2 model, checked that before I pulled the trigger on the trade. And I understand the frustration about the long wait and I wouod be irritated too, but how many millions of

Re: firing p64 without safety lever
If any part of a weapon is broken in any manner and that broken part is part of the pieces / parts that make the weapon function (see Weasel640's post above as an example) the weapon is potentially unsafe. Force necessary to remove the lever of the safety from the safety barrell can cause metal frac...

Re: firing p64 without safety lever
1) the safety is part of the fire control group- missing any part of thaflt group may make it function in a manner other than designed, ie:unsafe.
2) If somehing as obvious as the safety is missing, what else is missing that may NOT be as obvious, again potentially very unsafe.

Re: Looked at a Taurus PT111
Mike, Glad my experience was usefull to you. And I agree that not being able to try the trigger in the store is a deal killer. Kinda like them asking you to buy a car without hearing it run. Wonder if there is a dealer that has a range that rents time on one? I bet you would find the G-2 a pleasure ...

Re: Looked at a Taurus PT111
I just traded a .357 Rossi snubbie + holster + spped loader and ammo for a brand new Millenium G2 a couple weeks ago and I am very glad I did. As you said, the feel in the hand is great and the sights are great, rears are adjustable for height and windage, a little flourescent orange fingernail poli...

Re: firing p64 without safety lever
Taylor, I am going to assume you do not have a lot of firearms experience. if I am wrong please excuse me. No, DO NOT SHOOT IT. How did you buy the gun? From a individual or from a dealer? If from an individual then you NEED to take the gun to a qualified gunsmith and have him check the entire gun o...

Re: P-64 squib reported on TFB.com
There should be no problem with doing this INTENTIONALLY: ie: pulling the bullet, dropoing the powder, reloading the bullet and trying to fire it with just primer pressure. First of all, you SHOULD only be loading that one round and no others behind it in the mag, in fact I would not even have the m...

Re: Swollen Casings?
And the casing problem seems to occur with Privi Partisan more often than other ammo. We think they are loaded a bit hotter, European ammo often is. Or perhaps they are using a bit thinner brass.

Re: New Guy Checking In
JHall welcome to The Brotherhood. Checking through the posts will find a few different options for sights and grips. As far as the round count in the magazine, so far no one has come up with a reliable way to carry more.

Re: New 64 with problems
SCAR13, check your extractor. The lip may not be gripping the casing correctly due to buildup / gunk under that lip or it is chipped / misshapen/ broken OR the spring may be weak / broken. And +1 on cleaning the chamber. Acetone will clean out lacquer buildup in the chamber from lacquer coated cases...

Re: Silver Bear 94 gr FMJ "Sparks" When Shot?
Check the headstamp's on the brass. Make sure it say's "9x18 Makarov" or "9mm Makarov" and not .380 ACP. it does not happen often but occasionally the a box of rounds gets mis-labeled, or even worse, someone switches them in the store thinking it is funny. .380 ACP will chamber a...
