I recently purchased a Mauser Model 1914 and it is in need of a new finish. Can this be successfully blued with off the shelf solutions?
My P64 could use some new finish, but I'd prefer to test my technique on something else first.

Try nitesiters.com these things glow in the dark and are highly visible under normal light conditions. I also used Testors matte white on my Feg PMK380. It worked pretty good,but my gun oil takes it off sooner or later.

I just purchased four holsters designed for the Makarov. The holsters are all leather made in the seventies, but never used.The set of four cost me about nineteen bucks including shipping. I've taken everyones' advice and stripped her down, cleaned everything I could see and oiled absolutely everything. A friend of the owner of the range thought that the ammunition may be the problem. Has anyone used this type of ammo? I have to say I never heard of aluminum shell casings.
