Re: RELOADS WITHOUT CRIMPING = MORE ACCURATE?
Thanks for your input Ketchman. I also posted this on the other gun forum I frequent, and the consensus is, as you said. Maybe I just got lucky, none of those 3 rounds exhibited any pressure/bullet set back when chambered and shot. I did get a tip on trying different OAL on lightly crimped rounds to...

Re: Is Norm's spring the answer?
Have you tried cleaning the internal first? check the trigger bar, make sure it's not bent/rubbing against the frame, which could cause it to not move as freely. You may also try to use 1000 grip sand paper to the areas where the disconnector engages the trigger bar.

RELOADS WITHOUT CRIMPING = MORE ACCURATE?
I've recently tried reloading 9x18 mak for my P64. I'm using trimmed down 9mm cases, 93 grain cast from MBC and AA#2. At one reloading session, I had a few rounds that didn't seat well. There were some lead scraping around the case mouth, guess I forgot to bell those cases or didn't bell it deeper. ...

Re: Replacement Wolff 18 lb hammer spring - SA pull
I think you meant 19# & 20# Ketchman, his OP mentioned the 18# SA pull at 3.4/5 average. I'm also waiting for him to get a reading on those springs. Incidentally, I went back and reinstall the 18# spring. Though I can pull the stock spring on DA after I cut/grinded off a coil & half, I find ...

Re: Handsome pistol, misbehaving
Might help if you do a complete disassembly/break down the internals, and give it a thorough cleaning. The disconnector could be hanging, not allowing the trigger bar to move up and engage the sear. There could be sticky cosmo/gunk or dried up grease on the frame that keeps the part/s from moving fr...

Re: Weird Mis FIre
How is it a misfire, as your title say? And you need to give us a little more details on how your pistol functions. What happens when you hold it correctly and pull the trigger?
You might need to completely dis-assemble/breakdown the parts and check if there's any broken parts.

Re: Replacement Wolff 18 lb hammer spring - SA pull
I just modded my stock spring. Grinded/reduced it by a coil and a half. Re-installed it back and I can now pull it on DA, one handed. Its still stiffer compared to the 18 lbs Wolff, but it also added some weight on SA pull. I'm gonna try and see how far if I can last 100 rounds doing the DA/SA pull ...

Oops, sorry Bob, my bad. The vid I embed was the hammer spring mod. The stock recoil spring, as Curly said is 18 lbs.

Re: My P64 Let Me Down Today
@ Iklawson, In lieu of bending, the FP back to shape, can you hammer it instead? Im just thinking that just bending it, may not straighten the pin, as it would by hammering?

Re: Slide problem
Bob, the original/stock spring is over 20 lbs on DA and about 4 on SA.
This guy made a measurement using a fish scale, might be crude, but at least he gets an average reading.

Re: Replacement Wolff 18 lb hammer spring - SA pull
Hey Marty, thanks for the info on the SA pull weight. While the stock spring has maybe over 20# weight, so no need to know that one. But I wonder what the 18# would be? Did you not try to measure that? edit. I just saw a you tube vid of a guy using a digi scale on his 18 lbs spring, it didn't give h...

Anyone tried to mod trigger in SA mode?
As in most DA/SA pistols, the trigger moves halfway back when the hammer is cock, or when the slide moves back to eject, cycle the next round, and pushes the hammer in cock/SA position. The P64 for some reason, was not designed this way, though it has a light pull, the trigger is all the way forward...

Re: Slide problem
No, I wouldn't call it a problem with the pistol. It only happened to once, the first time I dis-assembled the pistol. Not really quite familiar with it, so I could say its an operator problem. Its how you angle the slide as it goes/pulled in once the recoil spring touches the shoulder area in front...

Re: New Member Question
So you tried it will real ammo on DA and no bang? was there any dimple/light primer strike on the ammo? Did you give it the usual thorough cleaning? It could just be gunk up with cosmo, try to spray the firing pin hole with brake cleaner. If it functioned with a snap cap, no reason why it wouldn't o...

Re: Underwood ammo, Hornady ammo
Marty, just wondering, why would you not be able to measure the DA pull on the 18# spring?
