Re: P-64 not chambering
Tufrthnails, Take your mag apart and thoroughly clean the inside, the follower, and stretch the spring out a little. I had that issue with mine and it usually eats whatever I feed it. That follower needs to respond immediately and move freely and, being that it's a blow back design, they get dirty r...

Re: double action trigger pull.
Welcome, unfortunately even with the 18 lb. spring it's going to be stiff. It's just the way these weapons are. Having been a revolver man during my 20 plus years in law enforcement, I'm used to cocking the weapon as I draw it from the holster so the stiff DA trigger pull is not an issue for me. You...

Re: Privi Partizan Problem w/my CZ82
If your ammo is marked 9x18 then your weapon should fire it. Check the end of your barrel and look for built up carbon. Soak it in Hoopies and then bore brush the hell out of it and try it again. I would bet that would solve your problem.

Re: P-64 advice!! Please help!
xjpsmithx My P 64 was most new as well when purchased. I've read and studied all of the various fixes on here and I would advise you against cutting the springs, and anything other than a light polishing of the associated parts. After it's been thoroughly cleaned place a drop or two of Lucas assembl...

Re: Is my P64 operating correctly?
Squeezer, I wondered the same thing myself. Any auto-loader is supposed to operate at full speed, in other words, if you slowly let the slide return to breech many will stop just a little short. Mine does the same thing, As long as it operates correctly when you're firing it I wouldn't worry about. ...

Re: magazine loader
Old Tuck Sorry for the delay. Just picked up an UpLula universal loader the other day and it works perfectly after you figure out the proper way to use it. You need to set it on a hard surface than it's easy as 1 2 3. Sure has saved my fingers a lot of wear and tear I can tell you that. They aren't ...

Re: Wolff 18 and 22lb
Actually when I bought my hammer springs I got a set of 18#. 20#, and 22# springs.I still have the extras in the safe. Maybe a fluke I don't know but I bought the recoil springs and the hammer springs separately. It was called a "calibration kit". I don't mean to argue with you Weasel and ...

Re: Why would dry firing with no snap caps damage the safety
I have to agree in principle with the guys above. At the police department we had some dry fire exercises with a mix of wheel guns and semi-autos and I don't remember anyone ever having a problem however, that being said, had there been a breakage, we could still get parts for those guns. With the P...

Re: Wheel gun guys - need advice
Just give it a good cleaning and a LIGHT oiling. Actually a Smith and Wesson representative advised us on the range, let's just say a few years ago and leave it at that :D , to only use two drops of oil on the cylinder and one in the firing pin and no more. The problem they were having was that peop...

I believe I would offer somewhere in the $150..00 to $175.00 range. Had you not mentioned that he was "elderly" I would have said take it and run too, but they get enoughy of that from our government already. I carried a similar model for my entire career and never once regretteed it.

Re: Wolff 18 and 22lb
Welcome. I have 18 and 22 respectively and you are absolutely correct, If you don't grind the ends flat on the 22lb spring it's near impossible to get it together and, if you're lucky enough to get it together, you'll have a hell of a time getting it apart. I tried the 17lb trigger spring and got a ...

Re: Problems wit a P64...1917...pink and black
Drunkenjack, welcome to the forum. In my 64 I use the 22# recoil spring and the 18# trigger spring because I shoot hot loads. Some of the resistance of the slide being racked, and I emphasize SOME, can be helped by putting a drop of two of LUCAS assembly oil in the slide rails prior to reassembly an...

Re: new guy with spring questions
Thanks for your expression of appreciation of my service. You are right, today there are a few assholes out there and it seemed to me that it got worse after 9/11 with the passage of the so called "Patriot Act". I know more than a few guys, mostly the younger ones, that thought it gave the...

Re: new guy with spring questions
Same on this end, I use the 18 lb. hammer spring and the 22lb. recoil spring. I bought the calibration pack from Wolf and mine was the old stock. After installing the 22lb. recoil spring I like to never got the slide back off. My grip just isn't what it used to be and I had one of the boys put it on...
