Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Thanks for the reply, St. Louis, I spent 15 years near there across the river in Wood River,Ill worked in Granite City also across the river from St, Louis; and my brother still lives in West county off I-40. I finally retired and moved back home to KY back in '02, I really liked going to the Rams,...

Good advice. I'll dbl chk that. Thanks.dfunk wrote:Also be sure that the slidestop lever is properly aligned and isn't helping to bind everything during reassembly. By your last description, it seems as if the little lug area might be a tad proud.

Re: field stripping a bear
OK, I've had the pistol apart and back together again several times now. I still use a 2x4 to brace against the slide because of the heavier than normal recoil spring but it does come apart comparatively easy now. Going back together is still a bit of a challenge. It still seems to get "hung up...

I like them there. Their prices aren't always the lowest around but they have good customer service and a gunsmith that works for them.DoubleTap wrote:Never shot there, although I've been there quite a few times. Everyone there seems pretty nice.

Re: "Helpful" advice.
Had a membership there, let it lapse about a year ago. Friendly atmosphere and safety conscious, almost the exact opposite of the death trap known at "Target World" down in Cincy. I'll probably re-up my VRA membership again in the fall, for the meantime just paying by the hour. Yeah. Like...

I generally have good experiences there and like the folks running it. But, this one gentleman is, perhaps, just a bit TOO helpful.

"Helpful" advice.
So there I was at the local range, shooting with my son, brother, and my dad (who's visiting us over vacation - working in CA). I'm punching paper with my CZ82 and my P64 when the Range Master on duty comes and asks "Who's shooting the Wolf ammo?" (Well, it's Brown Bear, but whatever.) So ...

No doubt about that. I'm a fan of the caliber and am excited to see new SD loads coming out such as Hornady's "Critical Defense" line in the 9x18 Mak.frankmako wrote:but both guns will get the job done.

You're semi-local to the area. Perhaps some time we can go to a range and I'll loan you my PF9.DoubleTap wrote:Nice review! I haven't fired a PF9, but I routinely carry a P3AT. As lklawson says, PF9's are readily available around these parts.

Nice 52's. I'm a fan of the 52 myself. So much that I CC my fav. from time to time.
