Re: Liquidating Guns
I currently donate $ to the makers of about 10 different ammo calibers not counting rifle and shotgun. It's not a big problem because one, 9mm, includes so many different guns. The other calibers are just occasional shooters. My only handgun caliber that falls into the "what was I thinking"...

Re: Which gun is the closest fit to a P-64?
dgposton a CZ 50/70 might fit that holster. It is slightly longer than the P-64 but muzzle to muzzle the front of the CZ trigger guard is a tad over 1/2" further back on the frame. The CZ 70 (don't especially recommend the 50) is a very well made and fine looking pistol, perfect size for a carr...

Re: New P64 owner!
After a few years of buying milsurp guns online I too have lost faith in the "hand select" process. I usually pay the extra $10 but the results are, as juniustaylor accurately described it, hit or miss. I might receive a brand new gun or one in just average condition, it seems to be purely...

Re: Initial Cleaning
My cleaning regimen (learned largely on this board) for new P-64s and other milsurp handguns swimming in cosmoline: field strip, remove the grips, and soak the gun (including disassembled mags) in mineral spirits in an aluminum pan for 5-6 hours under the hot sun; while the gun soaks scrub the grips...

Re: Polish Army having Problems with new WIST-94 Pistol.
Too bad, the WIST-94 is an interesting looking pistol. Manual (in Polish text but excellent pics and schematics) is @ http://www.prexer.com.pl/WIST-94Instrukcja.pdf Agreed, hopefully this won't shut down the supply of P-83s. On the flip side we may get an opportunity to pick up a WIST-94 sooner than...

papabear I have been debating whether to get my 52 refinished (currently has the original gray park finish) but your photos made up my mind. Those look outstanding. Where did you get the grips? hangfire

Re: With my P.83 on the Way, I wanted to ask about Recoil.
I've only fired my P83 one time. I didn't find the recoil to be unpleasant at all. The P83 has one design feature that I don't like, that being the absence of a cutout where the back of the trigger guard meets the frontstrap. The P64 has a nice smooth indentation at that point that supports the midd...

Re: Yugo Tokarev now C&R eligible
Received my Yugo M57 from SOG late last week. Been busy and haven't had an opportunity to de-cosmo it but just wiping off the exterior with a cloth it appears to be in near mint condition. I paid extra for hand select, fwiw. Other than the obvious differences from my Romanian such as the longer grip...

Re: Help me decide!
Have and am a huge fan of both, slightly partial to CZ 82. One reason to possibly pick the CZ is that most parts for 83, which is still in production, and 82 are interchangeable.

Re: Pitting and Rust
Do you guys suggest keeping the P64 or selling this one for one in better condition? There is a bit of rust and pitting on the hammer and on the back of the slide that I can't seem to get off. If your P64 is one of two or more and it's mechanically sound I'd consider hanging on to it, as the previo...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings bans CC
Guys if your spouse or friends want you to go into BWW, Whole Foods or any other place with the ridiculous no guns sign and you're concerned about your safety I would urge you to carry your piece as you normally would. Obviously keep it concealed and don't do something stupid like pass it around to ...

Re: SOG vs J&G P-64s
Ask your your dealer to FAX SOG a copy of his FFL with a note that you will be contacting them directly to order a (description of gun) that will be shipped to the dealer. Follow that up with a call to SOG's toll free phone number, verify that they received the FFL and dealer's authorization, and ju...

Re: pocket carry
KelTec P3AT is in my back pocket every day. I carry several pocket holsters in my car for different applications. On shirttail out days (most) the best one is the DeSantis Nemesis, good fit and comfortable but it allows the gun to print somewhat. On the shirttail in days a Hunter mod. 2500-2 works g...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings bans CC
Well that really sucks. I'm wondering if the no guns policy is only in effect in AL and other states that prohibit carry in establishments serving alcohol, or in all their restaurants nationwide. If it's the latter shame on them. Places like that I usually carry anyway, I just keep the roscoe outta ...
