A poll of sorts...

A question for everybody, I think the answers will be interesting... WHY? Specifically, why did you choose to own a P-64? What is its primary purpose? Concealed carry? Range toy? Why did you choose it- for whatever purpose you have it- over other options? What do YOU find to be the pros and cons of ...

Re: Wolf Springs

I don't think any of the Wolff springs affect the mag release specifically... I mean it is attached to the hammer spring but I did not notice a difference when I changed out springs any function of the mag release. So there is no reason I can think it should be difficult aside from just getting used...

Re: Don't change the springs.

The hammer spring is totally irrelevant to the possibility of a discharge when the weapon is dropped. With the hammer down and safety off, the hammer is not in contact with the firing pin, a small stop within the trigger mechanism prevents the hammer contacting the pin in this condition, and there i...

Re: A different take on grips.

Thank y'all very kindly. I sort of wonder why leather has not been more popular as a grip material... I mean the obvious answer would have to do with durability, sweat and water resistance, etc. But the techniques are there to overcome any of those concerns... as is evident by leather grips on knive...

Re: Don't change the springs.

Oddly, the P-64 passed a California (required for import there) drop safety test- at least so I read somewhere. Go figure. In general, I avoid dropping my weapon by using safe and sane handling practices. (Yes, of course accidents can happen. Calculated risk is a fact of life.) That in mind, If it s...

Re: A different take on grips.

For anybody interested, the leather is just a small project size piece sourced from Hobby Lobby for about $4.00. I actually intended this as an experiment for proof of concept but was so pleased with the results it became my permanent solution. The process was simply taking the unaltered original gr...

A different take on grips.

With all due respect to Russ and Polish Iron, I love what you do and that you are doing it... I'm just not a fan of rubber or rubberish grips. And in the case of the P-64, wood replacements are damn near half the price of the pistol, hard to talk myself into it. But still, OEM grips look cheap and l...
