Re: Where to buy a P64.

One was a 1969 (round hammer) the other was a 1976 (triangle hammer). The 69 was in slightly better condition, but they both were darn near prisitne. No handpick.

The second was recieved about week before SOG ran out on the 26th.

Re: Where to buy a P64.

I have handled two examples of the P64 from SOG in the last few weeks - one delivered the second week of July, and one just the week before last. No handpick on either. They were both in fantastic condition. One appeared practically unfired, the other had just some slight holster wear around the muz...

Re: Reloading for the M1895 Nagant Revolver

Wow if you don't get reliable ignition with Winchester small pistol primers then there must have been quite a bit taken off that spring! I took about 30% off the hammer side and 10% off the trigger side of the main spring and I only just barely have issues with CCI primers. Winchester primers aren't...

Reloading for the M1895 Nagant Revolver

Commercial 7.62x38r ("7.62 Nagant") ammunition runs at least 40-50 cents a round and at an anemic 600fps is uninteresting. I wanted a load for my M1895 Nagant revolver that is not only inexspenive to assemble but also accurate and with a little more power. There are a variety of ways load ...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

Starline seems to be perpetually behind on brass production. I had been trying to get 32-20 cases for my 1895 Nagant revolver for what seems like forever, gave up and bought Remington 32-20 cases instead. When I finally got my hands on some Starline 32-20 cases it turns out the Remington cases worke...

Re: Where to buy a P64.

With surplus P64's still available from distributors the price will hover under $200. I have seen two samples from SOG in the last few weeks, both excellent and practically unfired, $169 plus shipping brings it to about $190. If you're considering selling one and don't need the cash immediately then...

Re: Scratched Plastic Grip Repair

Don't get me wrong the Dremel 421 polishing compound did fantastic and really did a nice job of removing the haze left from the brake cleaner and polishing up the area worked by the steel wool. It looks a lot like the finish on my P64 grips now. I have one cz-82 grip that was untouched and retains i...

Re: Scratched Plastic Grip Repair

This technique worked well for me. I ended up with a nice dull finish with white haze on one of my CZ-82 grips (along with a very pronounced fingerprint right in the middle) after getting some brake cleaner on them. (Note to self: Commie plastic doesn't hold up well to solvents). I used some 0000 st...
