Grip Karma
I just bought two P64's and am trying my hand at refinishing one into a BBQ gun. It sure would be nice to have a set of fancy grips. Please count me in and thank you for your thoughtful gesture.

Gritty Grinding Slide
After I sanitized the works with Gunscrubber I applied a little Lubriplate white grease on the rails and a few drops of Weapon Shield oil on some other spots. It is as smooth as butter in every respect now. So smooth that I can't believe they are nearly 39 years old! :) Then again, I am 42 years old...

Here is my newest one from J&G. I just picked it up an hour ago and only wiped it with a silicone rag. As far as I can tell it has never been fired. Fascinating that it's 38 years old and brand new at the same time. The one on the bottom is my first one from a week or two ago (www.centerfiresyst...

Siafu "I will get it put on my permit tomorrow" Pardon my ignorance here but what does this mean? Are you talking about a ccw permit? Here in NY we have to put every handgun we own onto a permit. We cannot lawfully posses a handgun without also having been issued a pistol permit. I can ca...

My newest P-64 is from J&G and it appears to be NOS never fired or even used. There are no spring markings on the barrel or the typical wear points where the lower frame meets the slide. I will get it put on my permit tomorrow and get some pictures posted here to drool over. Even the numbers on ...

Newbie question: I am sure you removed the grips, perhaps the recoil spring: did you go beyond a basic field strip applying the cold blue? Also, only external components, correct? I hear not to mess with the interior as it could adversely affect fitting when re-assembling. Looks great, and hope to ...

I intend to use the Wolff 18 pounder when it arrives. I hope there aren't any negative consequences.

I cleaned it with Gun Scrubber (Tetrachrolaethelyne-TCE) to remove all oil and residue. Then I went over it real carefully for about 15 minutes with 0000 steel wool and re-sprayed with TCE. After that, I put it in a 150 degree oven for about 5 minutes on a clean piece of foil to bring the metal up t...

My P64 from Centerfire Systems came in a brown box wrapped in white tissue paper. The spare mag was in a paper envelope.

When these were in service with the Polish did they use brass case ammo? Didn't the Soviets use steel case ammo? There are absolutely NO parts?! None? Zilch? Zero? I know I didn't spend much but I thought there would be some parts should the need arise. Now you got me all concerned because I want to...

Can I fire Wolf ammo in this gun? I got all excited when I got 11 boxes of Wolf for $9 each. Now I am up to my ears in steel cased ammo. Can I shoot it without concern? What are the issues associated with it? Thanks.
