Re: What type/brand of ammo do you like to feed to your pist
I usually prefer to fire my own 9mm Mak reloads; but when it comes to commercial ammo, I generally end up buying Brown Bear from AIM Surplus. If feeds well in my P64, and the price is right. Once you get past the "stinky residue" aspect of Brown Bear, and if the "lacquered steel case&...

Re: Is p-64 a good target pistol
I find my P64 to be remarkably accurate as a target shooting pistol out to my "typical" defense practice distance of 7 yards. It's not the most comfortable or pleasant shooter, though. After about 30 or 40 rounds, I've had about all that I care for.

Re: Picked up a CZ 82.
One thing I'm aware of - compete disassembly of the CZ 82 won't be a piece of cake... Well, the dis-assembly isn't near as tough as the re-assembly! Truthfully, the only "rough" part is getting the seer spring engaged properly. There are some great guides out there that will help you thro...

Re: Condition of AIM Mosins, the $80 specials...
Hi Jun, I received my MN 91/30 (round receiver) today. I've taken it about 80% apart for cleaning and inspection, and I can report the following so far: 1) The condition of the stock is very, very nice. All the wood is solid with next to nothing as far as marring is concerned, and the condition of t...

Re: Condition of AIM Mosins, the $80 specials...
Anyone have any information on what condition the Mosins are that come from AIM? I assume they're in good shape. I'm mostly concerned about the bore condition after cleaning it all out. A friend of mine is looking at buying 2 for his boys for Christmas and I was just trying to help him find the bes...

Re: Bought some more stuff.
I think that with Lee products, you generally get what you pay for. I think they provide good value for money, but you have to go into Lee ownership with an understanding of the limitations of the equipment. I have 3 Pro 1000 presses, and they all work; but, there is inevitably a bit of fiddling aro...

Re: Hi there, P64 from Aimsurplus on the way
Hi Fred, Congrats in advance on your new arrival! I've bought a number of pistols from AIM and have been very satisfied with the condition of every one I've received from them. I'm 100% in agreement with Sarge - I also trim down 9MM Luger cases and reload them as 9MM Makarov. If you have a decent br...

Re: Armory Racks
Hi Ryan, It is refreshing (to say the least) to encounter a business person with the degree of commitment to customer service that you show. Keep that up and you're going to build a very, very loyal following! Thanks for listening; it is truly appreciated. I may have to put a second shelf in my safe...

Re: Armory Racks
Well done indeed, Kirk! The box your rack came in is sturdier than the one mine was packed in - yours is definitely thicker, and is double-layered corrugated cardboard. The other difference is that I bought the 8-pistol rack; so my box was twice as wide as yours. I suspect the extra width was enough...

Re: Going to Chrony a few different rounds
Thanks for the info, gents. I use Bullseye for all my pistol loads (.45 ACP, .38 Special, 9mm Luger and 9mm Mak). Although pretty dirty, I find Bullseye to be cheap and versatile for target/practice rounds. 4.2 gr in my 9mm Luger and Mak loads gives a slightly lighter recoil than most factory ammo I...

Re: Going to Chrony a few different rounds
Just a quick question, sir - what bullets are you using? I've used Missouri Bullet Company round-nose bare lead (95 gr, I think) with good result.
I've loaded up some rounds with Berry's plated bullets, but I haven't gotten around to firing them yet.

Re: Lee 9mm Makarov factory crimp die?
I did not read all the post/answers....on the Makorov round all I do is use the bullet seating die (LEE) screwed down until the bell is removed....then I adjust the seating depth and go to town. I have never had any setback issues or any issues at all frankly doing it this way. I crimp my .357 and ...

Re: Wolf small pistol primers?
Same here - they work great and are generally pretty inexpensive.
I understand that the Tula-branded primers are from the same production line as the Wolf primers. Has anyone else heard this?
