Corrosive Ammo
We haven't had a corrosive cleaning discussion on this forum that I can remember. But I've sure been involved with them on various forums, especially the cowboy shooter forums (I watch those because of my new passion for Single Action Army pistols). Grayfox and volfandan are shooters of reknown and ...

Corrosive Ammo
I have shot some in the P-64. The B-West, and some of the old East German. Corrosive is not problem. I get a pan of water boiling, take off the slide and recoil spring, and pour the boiling water over the frame, spring and slide. Then hit the works with a hair dryer. Boiling water just about evapora...

Yes, the info from Bartos is very appreciated. Bartos, do you see any military 9x18, in Poland or in Afghanistan?

9 x18 Mesko
papabear, I remember the source of my "Made for Germany" rumor. When I was first accumulating my collection of 9x18 ammo I started corresponding with Slim Tim on the Makarov forum. He sent me some of the more obscure, older varieties of 9x18 including the Mesko "Nimrod" which was...

9x18 Lake City
fritzhund, I have fired a bit of this, starting when it first came available some 4 - 5 years ago. It is good ammo. MFS has always sent us good ammo.

9 x18 Mesko
Papabear, the way I heard the rumor was that the Mesko was made for the German commercial market. It's been imported in 3 different packages to the U.S., and that hard brittle plastic is pretty bad stuff.

9x18 Lake City
Lake City is a major ammo supplier to our Army. But this Lake City isn't. The 9x18 variety of Lake City is made by MFS in Hungary and imported by Armscorp USA. The label is a rotten marketing ploy for some really good ammo. The bullet weighs around 93-grains, flies over 1,000 fps, and the case is br...

GUNSHOW TODAY
Well, $249 for a Bulgy is unfortunately getting to be more common all over the country. But I'll certainly reject paying $459 for an East German model.

Not having a lot to say doesn't hold some people up Kempin. I appreciate the sentiment.
I haven't tested recent Hornady for power. Your post is an incentive to maybe put some more of their recent offerings over a chronograph.

Somebody may have swapped out your hammer spring to one of the lighter PPK springs. You may want to try putting a Wolf spring in there.

Ooooo ... that Marlin is a very cool rifle. Now you need a good 6-shooter to go with it. Lots to choose from - the Roogers shoot +P; if you get a Colt clone I recommend a good one so it's reliable ... Smith and Wessons ....
