Re: FEG PA 63 fails to cock
I happened to find this thread after having my own issues with this phenomenon. I dunno if you and/or your PA-63 is still around, but I believe I have some of the answers. The gun works 100% great when you hand cycle. But the hammer often follows when the gun is fired. This is because of the way the...

Re: PA 63 Question
The PA-63 and the other similar FEG models are the SAFEST of the 9x18's to carry chambered. They are the only ones with a passive firing pin safety. The other 9x18's have a hammer block safety. But the hammer isn't what ignites the primer, so a hammer block can't stop all AD's - e.g. gun dropped on ...

Re: I broke my FEG PA 63----- Please HELP!
Sounds like you found it. Yes, the trigger return spring does double duty in this pistol. The unfortunate thing, as you found out, is a breakage makes the pistol completely useless. FYI, for future reference: Buymilsurp has the AP-7 trigger return spring in stock. It's what I bought when my spring b...

Re: trigger does not release hammer.....
Well, as to why it happens only when a round is chambered, no clue. Maybe Murphy's law? :) The fix would be to buy one of Norm's stronger replacement trigger return springs. It should also go without saying that using a good gun grease on the trigger bar and disconnector can help out, but I wouldn't...

Re: comparison of pa-63 and cz-82?
Be warned, the PA-63 and the P-64 are completely different guns. The PA-63 is basically a Walther PP clone. The P64 is sometimes considered a Walther clone, too. But in fact it's almost completely unique on the inside, aside from a few derivative similarities. The feel, the trigger action, and the e...

Re: Quirky disconnector? Is this out of spec? Bear with me.
Well, yeah. I don't think I have the right tools for that, exactly. But just maybe. There are also some other things I thought of. I could anneal the disconnector. Then move the arm down a tad to give it a little more reach. Then reharden it. Or maybe file a good size notch out of the disconnector a...

Re: trigger does not release hammer.....
Hey, Mike. Is the trigger completely missing, as if it's still on safe? A good cleaning might fix it, but you might want to at least know why this happens. This sounds like a weak trigger return spring. When you take the gun off safe, the trigger return spring has to push the trigger bar and the dis...

Re: Quirky disconnector? Is this out of spec? Bear with me.
Thanks a bunch, guys. It still seems pretty safe, to me, considering the hammer/firing pin geometry and the fact that the "half cock" safety notch stays locked. I can imagine worse, but my bet is that even a light strike on a OOB cartridge will be unlikely. So I guess I'll be on a lookout ...

Re: P64 stuck slide
In my case the trigger pin got itself loose and turned a bit, so it wasn't flush. This bound the slide up rock solid when I tried to put it back on.

Re: Could it be the magazine?
The magazine is obviously contributing to this problem. Are you aware there are 2 kinds of magazines? The feed lips are longer on the newer magazines, but they don't work reliably on the older guns with the round hammer. Comparing your magazines may show a difference in the length of the feed lips. ...

Quirky disconnector? Is this out of spec? Bear with me.
My gun's disconnector works. By that, I mean that between shots, the hammer will stay back. But I happened to notice that with the action all the way open, the gun continues to "click" when the trigger is pulled. Curious, I let the slide close most of the way, leaving it open about 1/8 of ...

Re: P-64 Achilles heel?
E=MC2: Mass + speed + gravity (acceleration) = inertia. That is, heavier gun = more speed + more inertia = faster firing pin speed when drop is stopped. I'm sorry, but you are wrong. Factoring in air resistance, it's the denser gun that will accelerate faster when dropped. Considering 2 pistols mad...
