Martilyo Thanks for your input on polishing the feed ramp. That is on my to do list. Have you actually made a P83 mag from a Makarov mag? If so, do they still work in the Mak? If not, has anyone in this group actually done it? In theory, it should work. The mak mag is a bit smaller. I don't believe ...

Is that the CO2 gun sold by the Sportman's Guide? I believe Umarex makes them.

I field tested my P-83 today. It feeds ball ammo well. I tested S&B. It doesn't like hollow points. I tested Silver Bear HP. There were many FTF's with the Russian ammo. Otherwise, it does have potential. To answer Oppy's questions, it is an improved Makarov. The stamps and welds are well done. ...

p64 vs keltec pf9

jbabbler,
Number 12 is a bear to get in alright. I do load the 12 and all mags do seem reliable.

p64 vs keltec pf9

jbabbler I agree that the P11 is reliable. I recently upgraded from 10 round mags to 12. It seems that you have, too, and are having success with them. Any comments? I have had problems with the P3AT. It seems to be easy to jam, needs cleaning a lot, and prone to light primer strikes. It seems to wo...

My P-83 finally came as well. It was nicer than I thought. It has a very nice feel to it. I put it in an old Makarov holster to feel how it carries. One doesn't even know it is there. It is quite light and should be a joy to carry. It will probably be a few days before it can be range tested. At any...

new-to-me pa-63 , all black

jhandy,
If that is a true PA 63 and has not been modified by a previous owner, there are not many like that. You may have a collector's item. I would not mess with it until I was sure.

Taurus PT145

Fellows, I know this thread has been quiet for a while, but maybe one of you can help me. I read your reports on the Taurus PT 145 as well as from some other sources. Everyone seemed to agree that it was a great gun for the money. I recently stopped at Cabela's and had a chance to handle one. It was...

How do you carry your CZ-82?

Rich You are right. #3 is an accident waiting to happen. Of course, #1 is safer, but it would be even safer with the clip out. You carry a gun to use in the unlikely event that you need it. #2 is reasonably safe. I think the CZ-82 was designed to be carried this way. I do prefer the Mak and I keep t...

How do you carry your CZ-82?

rick9plus, I have struggled with this question myself. I really like the CZ-82, but unlike the Makarov, you don't have the option of safety on plus double action pull. I believe that the first option is too slow and the third is asking for an accidental discharge. If there were dual safeties, that w...

Aftermarket magazine

Papabear, I do believe that my experience is rare, but it happens. A friend who is a gunsmith tried every trick to make the original mags work, but when I bought the aftermarket mags, the gun worked like a charm. If I were a newbie, I would not take my experience to the bank, but as this thread show...

Aftermarket magazine

I know that it is fashionable to knock the aftermarket mags and praise the originals. I do not doubt that this view is based on experience. I have two original Polish mags. Both were jamamatics. All the aftermarket mags that I bought worked well. In fact, I really could not shoot the P-64 without th...
