PA-63 Safety/Decocker Problem

Another clue I forgot to mention..... I used Silver Bear 94gr JHP and S&B FMJ when the pistol malfunctioned. I tried it last night with snap-caps and it worked fine!

PA-63 Safety/Decocker Problem

Apparently it's not the extractor. I removed it and cleaned it and the channel it fits in really well. No change. It wasn't very dirty. Occasionally, the decocker will work with a chambered round. I bought this particular pistol from CDNN in "new, test fired" condition. There was not a ton...

PA-63 Safety/Decocker Problem

Hey Norm I always load from the mag. I never drop a round into the chamber. Once I confined the problem to the slide and found that it worked fine unless a round was chambered, I thought perhaps topping it off ( 7 + 1 ) was the problem. But it won't decock with a round chambered even if the magazine...

PA-63 Safety/Decocker Problem

I have a problem with the safety/decocker on my 2nd PA-63. It works fine as long as there is no round chambered. Once I chamber a round, when I try to decock it, the hammer simply will not lower. I know it's not a frame problem because when I move my older slide to the new frame, it works perfectly....

PURCHASED AN EARLY ROUND HAMMER

It took a ton of effort to pull back the slide w/22 lb spring. It seemed to negatively affect the pistol's action. Flatten that sucker big time! I still have my 22 lb spring and someday I may return to grinding away.... Michael, I like the P-64 and PA-63 better than I do the Makarovs. But I don't th...

PA-63 from CDNN

Chaos, their printed catalog has all the prices. I don't know what their reasoning is for not putting them online. Average to Good = $109.99 Very Good = $119.99 Very Good to Excellent = $129.99 New Test Fired = $139.99 Extra Mags = $14.99 I got the New Test Fired and it is most assured is New! They ...

PURCHASED AN EARLY ROUND HAMMER

The 9x18mm bug bit me hard! I have 4 Makarovs (E. German, Russian commercial, Bulgarian, Chinese),CZ82, 2 PA-63s, and 2 P-64s. They all function perfectly and I prefer shooting them over my 9x19s, .38 spls, .357 mags, and .380 acps. The Mak cartridge just fits me and it is my most accurate caliber. ...

New Shipment!

I have left the stock grips on. I have wood grips on one of my PA-63s and on a Bersa Thunder 380, but I'm not captivated by the pictures I've seen of the P-64 with wood. That's just my personal opinion... The contrast of the wood and bluing make the wood grips look too wide in my opinion. The black ...

It makes perfect sense. I knew there were specific reasons. Your reasoning is certainly sound. Thanks for sharing with us.

Slide cutting hand????

I'm glad it didn't bite your hand. Aren't they accurate???? Oh, yeah! I think the original main spring (hammer spring) is 27 lbs. It is a booger! I don't use a pocket holster for my P-64, just my LCP. I do use the Bianchi Pro 100 Size 9 IWB. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=34688 I...

I wanted the round hammer because I already had the triangular hammer. I curious why you specifically wanted an older pistol. Are you aware of something I'm not? Both of mine work exceptionally well and are in excellent condition. Please share your reasoning....

PURCHASED AN EARLY ROUND HAMMER

Michael, I have had absolutely no problem being bitten by the slide on either of my P-64s. My hands aren't particularly large or small. I know others have reported this problem, but I've not experienced it. I would think one would have to hold the pistol extremely high for the slide to bite. I sure ...

PURCHASED AN EARLY ROUND HAMMER

Congrats on your pistol, Michael. I love both of mine: 1976 with triangular hammer and 1972 with round hammer. My safeties were like yours, so I put a little extra oil on them initially to smooth the action. I tried the 22 lb recoil spring but it was too long. I tried filing it down and it did help....

Slide cutting hand????

Outstanding! You will love the way it shoots! The one I got was a 1972 and you got a 1971. I wonder if this new batch is the "older" pistols. Regardless, it's younger than I am!! I carried my "new" one today in the Bianchi Pro Size 9 IWB holster. Very comfortable! I just really l...
