Re: Slide won't lift for disassembly
I ordered it direct from Wolff, using the link on the "Fixes" page. Was the hammer spring supposed to be flat as well? Because it wasn't.

Re: Slide won't lift for disassembly
Is there something I should take note of beyond just flattening the spring ends? Like, should the uncompressed spring be a specific length?

Re: Slide won't lift for disassembly
Out of curiousity, what is it that the rounded spring edge is catching on to make disassembly so difficult?

Re: Slide won't lift for disassembly
It wasn't an issue with the stock spring, no.
Mine's the other way around, as I said.
Gripping isn't too much of an issue, I can pull it back as far as it will go, but I'm wondering if the size of the spring is preventing the slide from going back far enough to come off the rail.

Slide won't lift for disassembly
I've installed the Wolff replacement recoil and hammer springs, haven't had any of the magazine drop issues other people have mentioned, BUT I'm having a tougher time getting the slide off for disassembly, and that happened after installing the XP recoil spring (which doesn't seem to soften up the r...

I've got one of those, too. Been meaning to take it to the smith to have it buffed out.

Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??
There's a video here that might be useful. aRhMnRs6Gi0 Guy uses the 18# hammer spring and 22# recoil, but doesn't install the firing pin spring. The recoil springs are bundled with what I'm guessing is a proportionately powered firing pin spring, if I understand the description correctly. I came her...

Re: Anyone use Finish Line grease on their rails?
I'd considered dirt and other particles sticking to the grease when I was looking up the different kinds. Finish Line is meant for bicycle and motorcycle chains, and I thought "Surely those things are subject to more dirt than slide rails, so maybe this'll work". Which is why I'm asking ab...

Re: List of preferred (and not-so-preferred) parts dealers?
I'd just thought I'd read somewhere that magazines for the models produced in the last couple years of it's lifespan held seven. I could be completely mistaken, and remembering a fragment of a fever dream.

Re: List of preferred (and not-so-preferred) parts dealers?
Could anyone who's bought the magazines from the "genuine_militaria" guy tell me if they only hold six cartridges, or if they're based off the later versions that hold seven?

More "Walther Clone" fuel for the fire...
The Polish word for "bond" is "łącznik", which is perilously close to the name "Łucznik", the factory in Radom where the P-64 was manufactured.
Well, -I- thought it was amusing. :p

Anyone use Finish Line grease on their rails?
Some of the finish is starting to wear off the moving parts the more I use my P64, in places like the trigger and on one side of the hammer, and I was going to use a tiny dab of Finish Line Teflon grease on these parts. Has anyone else tried it before?
