Did you flatten the ends of your new spring? I mean file/sand them down flat? Mine did that until I did....seems it bound up on the end when it was round.....works fine after I flattened the ends. You don't need to change the springs. Especially without ever handling it first. I fully agree. It is fine as is. Try it first before you do anything.
