Re: Spring questions

A hammer spring can, to some small degree, perceptibly change the felt recoil of a semi-auto handgun. Cocking the hammer, perforce, bleeds off some amount of energy from the recoil impulse. A heavier hammer spring will require more energy to cock and, therefore, will bleed off more energy from the r...

Re: Spring questions

1) If I install a Wolff trigger spring, what affect will that have on the single action trigger pull on my P-64? I ask this because I really don't want the single action pull to be any lighter than it is already. The hammer spring? It will proportionately lighten the Single Action pull as well. Som...

Re: 9x18 ammo

Mmmmm. I don't know if I want any of that, or not. Steel-cased, Russian-made, quite dirty and smelly. Pretty much like LVE. Great price, though. Why not? These guns are designed to work with steel cased ammo. I've never really had any problem with excessive dirtiness being hard to clean or causing ...

Re: P64 arrives today

Thanks. The process is not quite idiot proof but it's pretty darn close. I'd like to rust blue my P83 but I can't find detailed takedown and reassembly instructions anywhere (not even youtube!) and I'm a-scared-ed to to just start pulling it apart. I'd hate to take the proverbial "baggie of par...

You could try rust bluing. It's cheap, easy to do, and hard to screw up. http://www.czforum.com/index.php?topic=3769.5 From this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pgH7e6CL2EI/UfROlrQ7LsI/AAAAAAAABDU/Bo-mqR2oS8g/w489-h302-no/2013-07-18+17.55.39-1.jpg To this: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-y-RK...

Re: 109 gr.

what's the brand name, and what's the casing and bullet metal like? got photos? I love the "9x18 ammo data" thread in Gunboards.com -Peter To my knowledge only one manufacturer made 109gr. 9x18 Makarov. This is they. Wolf brand. It's well out of production by now. Standard copper FMJ (but...

Re: Detailed takedown of P83

Hello lklawson. This is my first post here, so please don't axe me just yet, haha ;) . I was also looking for details of the P-83. So I searched loads and loads even in Polish (don't speak any though) and found some pointers. Well, ultimately, I thought I should compile a kind of user's guide based...

109 gr.

I just scored 3 boxes of the fairly rare 109gr. 9x18 Makarov ammo on the secondary market. Including shipping it's getting me for $15 per box. That gave me a little heartburn 'til I remembered the Federal brand 9mm Luger I bought yesterday for $15 at WM. Oh well. My P64 likes it and the heavier weig...
