second thoughts

I also fire mine stock, no mods. I have been able to fire DA since I got it, but that first pull, wow! I have put about 75 rounds through it now and in that little bit of firing, it has loosened up quite a bit.

Which recoil spring and hammer spring?

I just came back from the range Saturday. I fire mine stock and have adjusted to the recoil, but for your wife it is probably a good idea to go with the lighter springs. As far as the magazines go, loading six is not really an issue. The real question is how many rounds do you plan on shooting at a ...

P-64 CLEANING ROD

I must have been one of the lucky ones. Mine came with two magazines, a holster and the cleaning rod.

recoil info-come on, put in your 2 cents

Just for my two cents, I have fired about 100 rounds through mine and yes, there is quite a bit of recoil, but I am going to leave mine stock for a while just to see what happens after another couple hundred rounds or so.

Replaced mainspring, hammer falls but doesn't fire

Hang in there Tim,

I had a similar issue with the spring. You are right, it is a PITA, but once reset, the problem will be solved.
There are plenty of users here with great advice and good information.

Every american should see this video

This is the first chance i have had to watch this video. Unbelievable! Yet there are still people here that refuse to accept this as real and a problem to be dealt with. We have to be ever vigilant to insure this doesn't happen here.

Recommended Cleaners/Lubricants

Thanks for the quick reply Norm. I have read good and bad comments on WD40. I never thought about sythetic motor oil. And from what I have been reading, Hoppes looks like the winner for bore cleaner.

Recommended Cleaners/Lubricants

Okay, I am ready to purchase my next P-64 within the next couple of weeks. I have been on several forums including this one looking for general info on cleaning. After I have cleaned the cosmoline off the gun and am ready to reassemble and lube, here is the question. In your experience, what is the ...

FTE and FTF

Well,
I did clean the gun after my first use and again yesterday after firing. It could be that I just need to get better at it. This is my first gun ownership in about thirty years since I left college and the military. As I get more experience hopefully I can get better at cleaning.

FTE and FTF

Well, I had my second day with the P64 today. I was firing Federal 95gr loads. I had kind of a mixed bag today. The first 20 rounds or so, I had no problems. Then I had s string of jams caused by FTEs and FTFs. I went through one box of Federals then stopped. Is this a normal experience with Federal...

P64 #2 from J&G 5/19: last pickings?

It looks like that as of today, May 22, they are still available from j&G. I just hope they still have them in a couple of weeks when I can make another purchase.

See my GLock 26 vs P-64: closer than I thought!

Great comparison pictures! The smallness of the P64 is what drew me to it in the first place.
The difference really stands out when you compare the two side by side.

second thoughts

I have to agree with dickfunk. I have put fifty rounds through mine and am going back to the range today to fire some more through it. I toyed with the idea of making changes but have decided that this is a great gun as is. I can leave with the trigger pull. I can use a different gun for my primary ...

Ammo choices: Silver Bear 94 gr HP

The day I purchased my P64, the local gun shop, Impact Guns, only had one choice in 9x18:
American Eagle FMJ 95 grain.

That was on May 13,2009.

P64 parts availability and PA-63

I checked CDNN. Theystilll show both the PA-63 and the CZ-82 listed
in their online catalog. I will have to call them when I am ready to buy in a couple of weeks to see if they still have them in stock. If not, I know there are more P64s out there.
