Re: Mak P64 question

I think this is the reference:

http://www.makarov.com/slide/

Note that this is now just a reference only because they have ceased offering this service.

But if they did it, any competent and properly outfitted gunsmith can do it.

Re: Mak P64 question

Hi...Just read an old article written by Stephen A Camp about the Makarov P64 vs Bersa .380 pros & cons of each etc...Several times he mentioned there were "improved" sights available for the P64 that were compatible to the 3-dot, white dot sights of the Bersa .380. Does anyone know a...

Re: 18,19 0r 20

You might have to experiment. I like the 19 but the more you tame the DA trigger the more "hair trigger" the SA becomes.

Re: Polish Radom P-64- should this be touched-up or reblued?

IMO any restoration/touch up devalues the resale price. They're very common Cold War milsup. While it may damage resale slightly, it's probably not going to damage it as much as a poor condition. We're not talking a vintage Ruger here. ;) But a "real" blue finish is better and more valuab...

Don't cold blue. Rust Blue. It's just as easy and way better.

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg

Thanks for the welcome I've been lurking around here for a year and figured it was about time I contributed something.Has as been stated all these pistols have rebounding hammers and at rest (hammer down) safety off you can't just push the hammer all the way forward, but what my bench testing is te...

This should have negligible, if any, effect upon most U.S. lead usage. The vast majority of lead in the U.S. is already imported.

Detailed takedown of P83

I'm looking for a detailed takedown and armorer's strip (not a simple field strip for cleaning) of the P83. I've googled till my fingers were blue. I got several hits right here on P64resource. But the weren't all that detailed. Helpful, yes, but limited. Got the exploded parts diagram (which is hel...

Re: CZ82 DA Problems..........

Strangely enough, that does happen. The spring probably was defective from the factory and broke within a few cycles; maybe while being dry fired.

Re: 7 Lb Double Action Trigger Pull

I see that no one has answered this one yet. Because of the design, it just can't happen. Anything you do to lighten the DA will equally lighten the SA and, perforce, impart less energy to the hammer (and therefore the firing pin). To do what you want, you'd need to only shoot it in SA. Maybe thumbc...

Re: CZ82 DA Problems..........

Make sure the internals are cleaned. Might be some detritus preventing the trigger from traveling far enough to break.

Re: Are we ever gonna get 9x18 ammo?

I agree with pretty much everything you guys are saying. However, one reason I don't (and likely never will) hire someone to do my dishes, for example, is that it would still involve my personal time to oversee said employee, ergo I spent just as much time finding, hiring, and dealing with this emp...

Re: Are we ever gonna get 9x18 ammo?

There can be yet another factor on re-loading. There are those of us whose homes are too small to have any suitable space. :? I agree. This is also a factor for me. My Man Cave is used for Western Martial Arts practice and whatever space I have left (little) is taken by my existing tools (mostly ge...
