I also agree. How did you find us, Weasel? What other forums do you frequent?

Re: Pitting and Rust

Do you guys suggest keeping the P64 or selling this one for one in better condition? There is a bit of rust and pitting on the hammer and on the back of the slide that I can't seem to get off. I don't think any of us can make an honest opinion without seeing several more pictures posted here from s...

Re: Could it be the magazine?

Didnt know there were two types of mags. I have an older model from the mid 60's (round hammer) but I have no idea if the mag it came with is of the same time frame. The mag is very clean and lightly oiled. Can you explain how I would recognize if my mag is an older or newer model? See if this thre...

I agree. I have always dealt with J&G for both pistols and mags.

Re: P-64 Achilles heel?

If you wanna help, maybe you can follow up on my other recent post about my disconnector? :P Sorry, I saw that post, but even I know when to admit I don't know something. :o But, I am absolutely sure that Norm, Dick or one of the other knowledgeable experts on this forum will be able to help! Just ...

Re: P-64 Achilles heel?

I don't quite think I understand that logic. Where's the seatbelt in this equation? :P Is it the safety? Yes, I think the seatbelt is the safety. (He said, daring to be wrong yet again ::laughing::) Moral of the story, don't drop the gun and don't crash into brick walls with a compact Euro-car. I t...

Re: P-64 Achilles heel?

Gloob, Ok really I think your physics are flawed. I agree with Weasel640, Gloob. E=MC2: Mass + speed + gravity (acceleration) = inertia. That is, heavier gun = more speed + more inertia = faster firing pin speed when drop is stopped. He (and Norm) is also right that the point is moot because of the...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings bans CC

[...] Anyway, why do people quote the entire previous mesage [sic]? I always just use a "^^" at the beginning, when responding to the preceding message, in particular! :) Yeah, I tried that "^^" in the past, but because I also spend a lot of time editing and proofreading my post...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings bans CC

At places like Whole Foods, it doesn't appear that you'll need any say anything, at all. If "outed," I should expect every worker in the place to kneel before you and ask you what they can do for you, followed with a "have a nice day." Oh, hold on. Reality just set it. They woul...

Re: Will PPK grips fit a P64?

I do believe the Zee grips are simply copies of the originals. At least, from the looks of mine, they are identical. [...] You are correct, except they are made of a high quality new-technology polymer instead of the original cheap plastic that was available 40+ years ago. They are next to impossib...

Re: Pitting and Rust

I've heard of using diesel fuel to remove cosmoline. I've also heard of people using mineral spirits or paint thinner. If I soak in one of those, how do I remove the chemical? Edit: Also, I don't see how to disassemble the trigger in the manual. I'm assuming you pop out the pin first, but I can't s...

Re: Pitting and Rust

Here is a pic of the frame with slight pitting: http://imgur.com/PXnlG.jpg Also, how do I remove the trigger? There is a bit of liquid rust (mix of oil and rust) that appears on top of the trigger each time I pull it. There isn't really any rust on the frame, just inside the trigger mechanism that ...

+1 Norm, I second that!

Other than grips your are outta luck, but you can't beat a P64 for a CCW if you can deal with the DA trigger pull, that is....
