OT - Bad Decision
Funny how the bear education system has worked ... in the Sierras, the black bears were always a curiosity when I was a kid, but not much of a threat. Food in the trunk was nearly as safe as silver in a safe deposit box. Fast forward 30 years and the Sierra Black Bears have all been through some sor...

Interspersing JHP and FMJ in the 32acp doesn't work too well ... you can start off with either in the tube and have a mag full of the others, but if you mix in the mag you end up with a high probability of rimlock due to the different lengths of the JHP and FMJ rounds. I just can't imagine a smaller...

I dont understand how any company can "reserve the right" to violate the 4th Amendment, or any of our rights for that matter. Well ... I kinda see your point, but you are not obliged to work there. So, they get to set the rules and you can either accept the employment or not. If you were ...

CZ52 - 9mm barrels
That's a good price on those ... but beware that they are "drop-in" in theory only! The barrel is likely to be drop-in ... but getting the 9x19 rounds to feed reliably into that barrel with an extra 6mm of travel over the native 7.62x25 and without the inherent feeding advantages of the na...

Dry firing the P-64
My best answer is "I don't know" ... but what I do know is that parts for this pistol are very hard to find. This is one case where the $10 to get some snapcaps is probably money really well spent if you want to dry fire it ... just isn't worth the risk IMHO.

Not that it matters too much in this case, but I don't think that it is illegal at all to comment about an ex-employee. An ex-employer might be held liable for his comments if they prejudice future employment, but it isn't illegal. Certainly it is legal to say that someone was a great employee, but ...

Bummer ... If they do let you go, I would advise that you don't make up any stories in future interviews about why you were carrying ... if you were unaware of the company policy, then you could say that you were unaware ... if you have said anything to your current supervisor or HR rep that you WER...

Shot Shells
bzinggg: I think that Nick was referring to the 22Mag SHOT shells ... not the 40grainers ... if so, then the nano-particles are probably not inflicting any damage whatsoever to the strays ... At least that was how I chose to read the post ... if you were correct in your read, then I agree with you 1...

Caution on Hammer Spring Replacement
After two years, I imagine that you know to always reduce a max charge by 10% (unless using one of the strange magnum pistol powders like H110) and work it up from there. That certainly applies to the load that I PM'd you.

No expert here, but IIRC, the safety actually locks the firing pin on the P64 ... it doesn't get much safer than that. That being said, I usually decock with the safety/decocker but still ride my thumb on the hammer ... not so much to prevent a discharge as to cushion the shock of the hammer crashin...

Only reason is that most of the shot cups are wadcutter in shape, so they work fine in revolvers but not so well in autoloaders. They won't hurt the barrel, but they also don't do much of anything at ranges past 5 feet. In my book they are more of a curiosity, although they have probably dispatched ...

I have a program called QuickLoad ... it is an internal ballistics simulation that allows me to predict chamber pressures and projectile velocities for all kinds of different powder, bullet and cartridge combinations. Keep in mind that it is true that "all models are wrong, but some are useful&...

Range Report P64 / CZ82
Easy to get started ... I first bought a Lee Hand Press ... wow ... that must have been nearly 20 years ago ... I still use that as my main press and I load everything from 32acp to 450Marlin with it. It has no problems resizing 300 win mag or anything else I've fed it ... although I will admit that...

Off topic, sniper rifle question.
Cheapest is gonna be a relative term here ... a rifle that was actually issued as a sniper rifle with the original optics is gonna be pricey from any era ... modern all the way back. There are some platforms that you could use to get a good, solid and accurate rifle on, but an original is gonna take...
