Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
You can try shifting your grip a bit to move the tail into the web of your hand. It will make the reach to the trigger a bit longer but it can help. You can also put a few layers of adhesive tape over the web and knuckle to cushion it a bit. I bit the bullet and purchased a PI grip and it made a wor...

Re: P64 Mags
They were a better price when SOG had them but definitely better the $35!
Glad to pass it along.

P64 Mags
FYI, for those that missed the last one, Classicfirearms.com has mags in stock.
Not a great price but better than the aftermarket mags.

Re: Another new owner!
Welcome! Be sure to feed it a diet of your intended SD ammo before you consider carrying it. 40-50 ( more if you can afford it ) rounds without any issues should be adequate. There's some good options for grips and grip wraps that may help with the bite. I just put a band-aid on the web of my hand a...

Re: P-64 Not Fully Chambering Rounds
What brand of ammo are you using and have you tried different brands to see if it replicates the issue on both P64's?

Re: P64 Origin Stories
I was looking for a replacement for my CCW and since I live in the (not so) great state of Kalyforrnya my choices were limited to what was on the roster of "approved" handguns. There were a few in 380, a few larger ones in 9mm and the C&R eligible P64. I liked that it was the same size...

Re: P64 Magazines in Stock???
Yah, that's why I was hesitant ordering until I got some input from others. All in all the shipping wasn't bad and the mags were real nice.
Besides, who knows when we'll be able to find them again for a decent price.

Re: Finally took the P64 to the range
I've been stock piling 9x19 cases for months now (I'm glad to keep the range clean). When the time comes I'll trim them for reloading the 9x18 cartridges.

Re: New owner
Congrats and welcome. I'm a short time owner and am learning to appreciate it more and more every time I shoot it. Don't know how many mags you got with it but if you look further down the page you'll see a post about mags in stock. Pick up a few extra while they have them as they are 30 or more yea...

Re: Finally took the P64 to the range
Over coming 40+ years of muscle memory is tricky. It'll take time to learn the new triggers. I figure a couple thousand rounds for drills should do it. I know it's tough but someone needs to keep the ammo companies in business. Yah the 1911 (mines the commander model) is kinda hard to conceal tho ma...

Re: Tula Ammo
Sounds good, thx. Silver Bear would be nice but it's $3 more a box and since I live in "that" left coast state I need to stock up on as much ammo I can before Jan 1st. The Brown Bear ammo gives me the best bang for the buck (no pun intended). I've got several boxes of HCD for carry ammo so...

Re: Finally took the P64 to the range
If you aim carefully it doesn't do too bad at 21 yrds using single action only. Tho as you said, with it's sights I can't imagine it would be practical at that distance. The double/triple taps drills are in case the DA round is a flyer and the second and third rounds are the ones that count. Gotta s...

Re: Finally took the P64 to the range
Second trip to range today with about 80 rnds thru it. Worked hard on DA/SA double and triple taps to try and get used to the different trigger pulls. Gotta say I don't like the DA pull but the SA seems light to me so I'm not going to be changing the spring. I've still got some work to do but at lea...
