We're on Law and Order!

Thanks for giving me a good laugh! Those comments about the grip nuts and the brass were pretty funny. The other feature they use to identify a p-64 is the over-developed trigger finger from shooting the double action!

Who carries to Church

So what would give the state the right to ban guns in a church? Since when are churches public property?

Who carries to Church

Wow! I am REALLY late!

I saw the late February dates and thought that it was a current hot thread. It was only after I posted that I noticed the year.

Everyone was talking about this LAST year!

Oh well, for what it is worth.

Who carries to Church

Hey gang, Ok, I realize that I am a little late on this one, but perhaps I should lend a comment since I am a Christian pastor. For the record, there is no Christian commandment or prohibition against (lawfully) possessing or carrying a weapon. Shooting up a church or being reckless with a deadly we...

+P Ammo

nbender, You are right to be batty about the vagueness of my answer, because I was speaking in general terms. I have not bought any factory 9x18 for going on two years, and so I don't have anything specific to add about the MFS ammo. The fuller thought behind my brief comment is my own personal bias...

+1 with vermonter. A p-64 is not designed for ammo that hot. If you want more power, get a more powerful pistol. Of course, a person is free to do whatever they want with their own property and it's none of my business. Just sharing my opinion. I doubt that it is a safety issue. I am convinced, thou...

my new baby

Congrats, magicdoc.

I can leave my address if you are sinding out cigars.

Just remember: the key to good parenting is to love all of your babies equally.

Have fun at the range,

OK it's not a Makarov......

Just for the record, the 71 grain bullet is ASSUMED to be an error. Unless I missed something in the previous discussion, there was no data to back up the fact. Getting the bullet weight that far off would certainly be a pretty significant typo on a spec sheet. Personally, I think that a bullet of t...

P-64 importation slowing down?

Martini 303

That sounds interesting, Norm. Getting quite a bit off of the p-64 subject, but I'd love to hear a little about that project.

Of course, I don't know what to say about you garage shooters, but have fun and be careful!

Really off topic! any input?

Here is a thought: God is in control. We are not able, nor expected, to solve all of the world's problems. Our responsibility is to do our duty justly and honorably. The idea that we could simply "disarm" for peace, while certainly appealing, is not based in reality. As "Space" s...

btw, as long as this post lives . . .

Have any of you tried the mojo aperture sights for the sks? If so, what did you think? The price is certainly right.

Actually, I am with you. I don't mind the thumbrest grips at all.

Of course, maybe I would change my mind if I tried the flat . . .

Straight wall chamber bore steel vs brass

Steve, I was about to say something along the same lines, though perhaps it should be the beginning of a new post. I prefer brass over steel but, like nbender said, it is probably splitting hairs. A much larger factor for the pistol's longevity is, in my opinion, the load used. I have been loading m...

Straight wall chamber bore steel vs brass

Wow. Great info, Steve. Nbender, I don't mean to imply that the steel cases are not "suitable." They are certainly within specifications, and, as I said in my previous post, I'm sure you would have to use a great many to notice any difference at all. My approach is probably more superstiti...
