OT - Stoeger Cougar 8000

Sorry I do not have any personal experience with the Stoeger Cougar but it looks like a deal to me. It does appear to be essentially the same as the Beretta Cougar and they were great guns, just a little pricey. Same for the ZDA, if it is the same as the TZ-99. I had a TZ-99 that shot great but I so...

Off Topic- Polish Predom-Lucznik Wz. 1970 Pistol

Remeber the ads for one of the James Bond movies with Sean Connery in black tie & tux, arms folded, holding a Walther LP53 with that long barrel? I always wanted one. What I got instead was a Polish copy of it- a Predom-Lucznik Wz. 1970 Kal. 4.5mm (.177) single shot air pistol. Man, this thing i...

Stupid question

destrux When I had an FFL I would check what Walmart had for sale and made sure that I did not buy anything for resale that they had in inventory because they normally sold for less than my dealer price. 10 years ago I was selling unissued Russian SKS rifles with plain or laminated stocks, machined ...

Glad to find this site

918collector Welcome to the forum. I certainly agree with you on the thumbrest grips. Some folks like them but to me they are an aberration. I got my P-64s with flat grips and have changed to flat grips on my Maks and PA-63. Easier to carry concealed and easier to shoot right or left handed. I have ...

Stupid question

Up until about 10 years ago I had an FFL for about 20 years, buying and selling part-time from home, more as a hobby than a business. I mostly did special orders for guys in my rifle & pistol club or looked for the real bargains to re-sell. I never kept any substantial inventory. Oftentimes afte...

Stupid question

I do not understand it either. I see them listed for $200+ on Gunbroker & Auction Arms but not selling. When I got ready to buy my first one I had heard that SOG had some problems with safeties on some of theirs and that theirs had the thumbrest grip so I looked to the auction sites. I bought on...

Silver Bear Ammo

I shoot the Siver Bear 94 grain hollowpoints and they are fine in my P-64s, PA-63 and Maks. No problems with them at all. I get them at AIM Surplus online for $130 + $12 shipping per 1,000 rounds.
