Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
Gunney, it's the Wolf ammo(primers). Perennial problem that many have had with it.

Nickster, she fries fish the same way, except doesn't use the egg. Might have to try that or milk, since she just shakes the filets in the seasoned corn meal and flour.
May have to go buy a can of spam, too, since I haven't had any in a long time. Grew up on it.

Hey Nickster, I like the spam recipe. My wife is from Louisiana, and hates to fry spam for me because of the smell. This might get her to make it more often.

Nickstedumass,
We love to help, but it doesn't help when a poster floods our board with nonsensical, confusing gibberish that wastes time.
If you have a question, just don't be cutesy, and speak plain ENGLISH!

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
Gunney, SSands and a few others tried the 14#, and as I recall, consensus was tha it really reduces the SA pull significantly , and is just too light. Most who have been on this board for a while seem to prefer the 16# to 18# range, if they want a better DA trigger pull without compromising reliabil...

OK it's not a Makarov......
nbender knows ALL about 9x18 ammo. You newer guys should look at his extensive research on the Makarov Board sticky, which I have posted here several times. It's really silly to think that this pistol was made to shoot 71 gr bullets when Poland depended on Russian ammo at the time, and they sure nev...

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
grayfox, The problem is most likely the Wolf ammo, not the springs. Hard primers. We have just a few die hards on this board that condemn the spring replacements, but probably 95% are happy with their spring changes. Buy some other ammo, preferably 90-95 grain, which the pistol was designed for. The...

Magicdoc, would have outbid you late in the auction, but noticed the Makarov and x18 lettering were missing.
After questioning the seller about that, decided to pass. Still a great deal for you, IMHO.
Enjoy, but don't let anybody try to load 9mm ammo in it.

Najaf, unless the thread states OT(off topic), we try to stick to P-64 stuff. You seem to be working multiple gun questions, all at the same time, in this particular thread you started. Please stick to the P-64 here, and we will do all we can to help.

First time with my P64 dated 73
Najaf, You were lucky to get the ORIGINAL flat grips. The left thumbrest was hastily added to later imports for import points. If you look closely, you'll see that checkering, etc, doesn't match the right one, and the grips don't always line up properly. In addition, many of the add-ons have cracked...
