Re: P83 review and analysis
The P64 looks to me like a work of art. Not a range gun, no fun to shoot. The P83 is more pleasant to shoot. The bottom of the slide looks like a 6 year old tried to sharpen a lawn mower blade on a bench grinder.

Re: Magazine pinky extension
I do not have one like that. However, that looks suspiciously like it may be for a Makarov or possibly a PA63. Those holsters all look very very similiar. Not to.mention that one is in incredibly good condition for being a 60's issue. New made forgery maybe??? Just sayin it is possoble. But I would...

Re: Magazine pinky extension
Mine looks just like the one on the left. I've been working saddle oil into for a few days, I finally got the pistol in it. It was a real bear to get the flap secured. I think it will stretch if I leave it for a while.

Re: Magazine pinky extension
You may be right, Ketchman. Another problem with the mag extension popped up when I bought a P64 leather flap holster made in the '60s. It won't fit with the magazine in the pistol. The spare magazine fits perfectly in the outer pouch and there's two loops inside for the cleaning rod. I know it's a ...

Re: Magazine pinky extension
I have a milling machine, I was thinking of milling it off and leaving about 1/8"of plastic. Looks like there's metal in the base with plastic molded over it.

Magazine pinky extension
This thing really bugs me. Does anyone make a flush or flat bottom magazine base? My hand is too big to fit on the grip with the extension. I shoot my G26 with my pinky under the magazine but I can't get comfortable that way with the P64.

Re: double action trigger weight.
I settled on the original recoil spring and 19# hammer spring. The single action pull was too light with the 18# spring. Every shooter and every P64 is different. Pretty deep, huh?

Re: P-64 Extended Mag Release
With that extended mag release, if you can't get the magazine out without a key ring maybe you should take up knitting. That's a really nice modification OP.

Re: double action trigger weight.
I must chime in a little on this subject. I have changed my hammer spring to 18 lbs and the trigger in single and double action is just fine. My safety worked a little too hard and when I took it apart the spring and detent rod were put in backwards. I changed that and it works easier. The bluing o...
