Re: trigger bar binding with polish iron grips
Please post here with what he says! Good luck. Got the latest polish iron grips and put them on the p64. Immediately I notice that the trigger bar is binding against the inside of the grip. This is causing the trigger to fail to reset properly, randomly hang up, etc. You can even hear the bar squeak...

Re: General cleaning and shooting questions
It shot beautifully. And I'm going to clean and lube it. I always clean an lube my firearms every, or every other time I shoot. I'll check the trigger bar. I don't mind the single action pull but of course the double is awful. I MIGHT try the 19# hammer spring but I don't much care to loosen the SA ...

Re: trigger bar binding with polish iron grips
I'm sure you know this, but the fellow that makes the Polish Iron Grips is fairly active on this sight. I hope he weighs in. My trigger bar isn't binding much, but it does squeak a bit not and then. I figured a little grease would solve the issue, but I am curious what he has to say.

General cleaning and shooting questions
Hello everyone. I thank everyone who helped or gave advice about my broken safety, much appreciated. Now that I have this little 1973 P64 beauty I had some questions about cleaning. I did a field strip, took off the grips, and removed the safety, loaded chamber indicator, firing pin, and safety dete...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
I installed the iron grips, and a 22# recoil spring, but I'm saving the hammer spring for after I take it to the range. I might keep it stock, or add the 18 or 19 lb hammer spring if needed. Thinking about adding an extended mag release. If I think I'm going to carry it, or go to the range a lot the...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
Granpooba, thank you so much for that suggestion, I let them know that I had some issues with a competitor and if they had the opportunity to find me an excellent p64 that would be greatly appreciated but not necessary. I don't know if they did but the p64 they sent me is an excellent example. There...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
Finally picked up my P64, after 10 days. It is a great example. Thank you to whoever suggested DK Firearms, they were excellent to work with and they sent me a great 90+% firearm. I'll post some photos and a range report soon.

Re: Help please re: old tula 9x18 makarov ammo
Never heard the name TCW before, did a little research and found out it was Wolf before a name change. 109 grain seems a bit hotter load and I would think it would be fine in the Mak and prbly would not hurt the P64, but as hard as the P64 recoils with 95 grain loads, why shoot it with a heavier, h...

Re: Help please re: old tula 9x18 makarov ammo
+1 on what Curly posted. The PA63 should never be fired using ammo with bullet weights above 95 grains because of the reason that Curly stated. The aluminum frame alloy is not hard enough to withstand the pounding from rounds that heavy and will not only crack but will elongate some of the pin hole...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
I am leaning toward Classic, given I've heard good things about them. But Southern Ohio Gun also seems to have a solid rep. "PERSONALLY " speaking, I would most likely lean toward SOG, before I purchased one from Classic. I to have purchased from Classic, that was stated to be in excellen...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
Mostly thinking of returning this one, getting a good one with the money, and keeping my eye out for a good deal for a back-up/parts gun.

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
it was rather pricey for a parts gun. $260. I might keep it. Thanks for the thought.
Sure makes it harder.

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.
what are thoughts on the old/new hammer styles, I was going to ask for a later 70s model, but only because I like the aesthetics of the pointed hammer - but that is kind of silly.
