I have a 22lb spring on my 1977 w/o the end ground flat and I have no problem getting it on or off.

I have the same condition with my P1 if I use Remington 115gr cause they are just a little shorter than the WWB ammo which works perfectly.

I would try different brand ammo if it continues after cleaning.

There is the rub.

No one can ever know when they will need a "fast shot".

I used 94gr Silver Bear and Wolf 100gr with no problems.

Interesting. Probably not the easiest to reholster.

Good carry piece but you will get punished by the recoil for high volume target shooting.

Ran 150 rounds thru mine the first time and I could feel the after affects for a couple days.

Great pistols. Mine doesnt like the Wolff conical shaped 100gr, too many failures to feed.

Silver Bear runs perfect.

The recoil is still snappy even with the 22lb spring.

You ARE very lucky and that's why they call it a safety but you have to use it.
