WOOD GRIPS

Where can you get wood grips or any grips designed for the p64? I got my grips from Himmel 's son, Christian. He makes terrific wood grips -- they are simply beautiful. Mine came in the mail last week. I just had time to install them before I went to a wedding. They were a very big hit! My camera i...

Removing glue

I must be good, as I remeber this from a science experiment when I was in the the 6th grade, and that was about 46 years ago!

ZeeGrips...Need a favor

I screwed up and sent Zee the wrong package. ??? (I hope he returns it -- he's gonna think I'm an idiot. Heck, I think I'm an idiot...) Anyhow, after a week with a wedding and a birthday and a lot of running around, I finally got the grips in the mail today... Sorry, it's hard to get good help... :-/

Thumbrest Grip

They are actually 120 grain Wolfe Yup, 9x18 ammo is available in bullet weights up to 120 grains. I have shot a lot of 115 grain Silver Bear through my P-64, but I haven't ever tried (nor have I wanted to try...) the 120 grain jobbies. The cumulative wisdom on this board suggests that a bullet weig...

Thumbrest Grip

After only one mag, he asked if he could swap the thumbrest grips for a set of the Zee grips, of course I let him, but I did have to rub it in a bit, told him maybe he should start paying more attention to what I said, hee hee.
Yup, that's just part of a father-in-law's responsibility... ;D

someone, I forget who, has already agreed to loan him their set, so he should be up and running soon. Yeah, that was me. But I am an idiot and sent him the wrong package! I had to go out and buy a bubble-wrap envelope, so I only just got the grips in the mail today. I sent him two pairs, just to ma...

Clip Draw

Couldn't agree with you more, and the clipdraw is a nice alternative to a holster, several here have them, when I first read about them here, I couldn't wait till I got mine, it's just plain Jane version but hey, its covered up all day anyway so what the hay. I still have 3 P-64's, and I keep the c...

16# hammer spring report

If it works for some people that is great, but I will not sacrifice reliability for a soft DA pull. Bingo! It works for some people. For example, it works just fine for me. I've been fortunate in that both my P-64's have turned into sweet shooting pistols in both single action and in double action....

My molds have about reached their end. I either need to buy or get loaned a pair of original thumbrest-less grips to make a new mold.
Zee,

I've got a set I can loan you. Email sent...

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull

You are correct about the method of carry for the 1911 being cocked and locked, but I prefered to carry with a round in the chamber and the hammer down. AS long as I kept the pistol in the hlster and the flap closed, I was not too worried about dropping the pistol, and the round going off. Yup, me,...

Anyone use a Bianchi x-15 shoulder holster for p64

Was curious, as they list one for small frame auto's.......Its a leather shoulder holster....
I had one of those for a 1911. Eventually I gave it to my son.

It seems like a very big holster for a P-64. Heck, it seemed like a very big holster for a 1911...

rounded face of trigger and polished all contact points Okay, I'm one of the mechanically impaired. Would you be so gracious as to explain exactly how (exactly how -- what tools, etc.) you rounded the face of the trigger and polished all the contact points? How do you even determine where the conta...

How good are these little handguns?

but on most of the 64's I've seen, the bluing looks great (my preference in a handgun finish). Yup, me, too! I've had one of my 1911's DiamondKoted. It looks nice, but I prefer bluing as long as it will last. The blue on both my P-64's is every bit as nice as that on my Browning Hi-Power -- and tha...
