Re: Awful grouping
Thanks for all the suggestions! I have been practicing at home and, among other things, found out that pressing the trigger using the first knuckle area moves the nose of the gun to the right. However, using the area below the nail (or between that and the knuckle) seems to keep the nise quiet. I th...

Re: To Those That Have Purchased My P-64 Extended Mag Releas
You might want to consider making those extended releases for the Makarov. While my p64's is nice and easy to operate, the one in my double stack Makarov requires a bit of effort.
If you want, I can tear it apart and send you the disconnector.

Boiling water? That might disqualify me; I should not be allowed in the kitchen. Flames and boiling oil all over the place? Check.69murray wrote:If you've got a bit of patience and can boil water, I'd recommend Rust Bluing wholeheartedly.

Re: P64 strength
No worries. I was just curious primarily aboit what kind of abuse load-wise the different Makarov shooting guns can handle, the specifically P64. You see, I bought a box of buffalo load and have shot 9x19mm in it before.

P64 strength
How strong is a P64 compared to other Makarov caliber guns (Makarov, CZ82, P83, etc)? I remember reading (in makarov.com?) that the real Makarov can handle higher load rounds (+P? SP7?), but a PA63 would not. Where would the P64 fit?

Re: FMJ or HP in 9x18?
I myself have been using Fiocchi FMJ in the range in my P64; I bought 500 rounds so that is the round I will be using to improve my skills. I do not think its kick is bad -- friends who tried it felt it was punishing -- but I can only compare it to the HP Silver Bear. I would like to try Prvi Partis...

Re: Awful grouping
I've had it for a while (two years?), but only this year I actually started practicing with it. And even that has been not as often as I would like (like once every few months). Not finding 9x18 locally at a sane price did contribute to that. About the springs, yeah I did get the Wolf ones. I think ...

Holsters that go above the gun
Two people I know have inside-of-your-pants (whatever they are called) holsters where the side that goes against your body goes up past where the gun ends.
Why?
