Re: Where to buy a P64.

I have 3 P64s. The first 2 were from J & G Sales and both were beyond excellent. Of course, J & G is out of stock now. I received one from MCS Firearms this past week, and I was disappointed. The right grip was pretty well chewed up and it seemed as if the springs had already been replaced. ...

Re: ball or jhp

I've settled on ball for my P-64s. I do use Hornady in my Maks and Silver Bear JHP in my CZ-82. However, I believe the shorter barrel of the P-64 drops the velocity too much for reliable expansion of hollow points. I could be wrong, but I feel more confident with the FMJ round. Just my opinion.... :D

Re: Considering getting a P64 for the wife

Josh, if your wife has been using a PA-63 with no problems, she should have no problems with a P-64. The P-64 is only slightly smaller than a PA-63. I think the P-64 has slightly less recoil than the FEG. At least that is my perception. I believe the P-64 is more durable than the PA-63. Yes, I have ...

Re: My recent purchase!

FYI, my '72 also has the round hammer and DOES have the A on the frame. My '76 has the triangular hammer and does have the A.

Personally, I like the round hammer better for carry purposes: just a tad less likely to snag on something...

Re: Bought a P64 from Cabela's today! springs?

I have 2 P-64s. I put the 17# hammer spring in one and the 18# in the other. I have had no problems with either one. The only thing I would warn you about the 17# spring is that the SA trigger pull is also lighter. It is not at all unusual for me to fire the first SA followup shot (after the DA shot...

Re: The P-64 is now C&R eligible!

Eric, as Norm pointed out, a C&R 3-year license is only $30. Personally, I would not pay any FFL $65 for a transfer. Get the C&R license or find another FFL holder. That's hiway robber, my friend!

Re: The P-64 is now C&R eligible!

This is great news! I should have my C&R in a couple of weeks! I sent in the paperwork about 10 days ago.

I have 2 P-64s and won't hesitate to get at least a couple more!

Re: New Sites

If you could keep them from falling off, they would be okay. I've tried them on a couple of Makarovs, P64s, and PA-63s. On front and rear sights. I could never keep them on for more than a week to 10 days. They would probably stay if I didn't holster the weapon. Their DaySiters fared no better.

Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo

No one has mentioned Hornady XTP. I use it for carry in my Makarovs and CZ82. It's very accurate and probably the best 9x18 HP available commercially. I haven't tried it in my P64 or PA-63. It's a little more pricey so I use it just for social occasions. For fun, I use Brown and Silver Bear FMJ if I...

Re: Grip Screw/Nut Rust

Sgt P, that helps a lot! I will check the local stores for Tuf-Cloth. I searched for and found a source for the Renaissance Wax Polish http://www.restorationproduct.com/. $185.00 for a 3-liter can! Wow!! I'm ordering the 200ml can for $25.

Thanks again for the info.

Grip Screw/Nut Rust

I live deep in the heart of Texas and it does get hot here! When I carry my P-64 (or S&W 642, for that matter) during the summer months, body sweat causes the grip screw and nut to rust. It's sure not easy to clean up! Have any of you had this problem? If so, what have you done to remedy it? Tha...

P-83 or CZ-82?

Welcome, cubsfan! I don't have the P-83, but I do have a nice CZ 82. If I were in your shoes, I would get one of each. You know what they say about variety.....
