How to carry...
Thanks, BD for the response to GR's question-- I don't get on here as often as i'd like. The phrase, BTW, is not intended as any kind of slur, it refers to an era in Mexican history when the rulers--guess what??-- outlawed gun carry. The story goes that the Mexicans by and large kept carrying, but w...

For those of you that carry the P-64...
To the original question: I keep my P64 loaded and ready to go, when I get home from work and need to go out, I stick it in my waistband Mexican -style, butt-forward on my left hip. No muss, no fuss. ( I carry a different gun to work). BTW, it is also my preferred "nightstand" gun due to t...

CASTLE DOCTRINE
To add just a bit-- Texas has long had a "castle doctrine" related to one's residence--it has now been expanded to include a "no retreat" doctrine applicable to any place where a person has a legal right to be

A cheap in the pants holster
Well, waddya know! A few months back I cut down one of those things to make a kind of "holster" to use for SOB carry--it just holds the end of the muzzle in place, keeps the pistol from sliding down my pants when I run or whatever, the handle hooks over the back of my belt and holds the re...

Thoughts on the "HELLER" Case
I think they will have to address the "individual" vs "corporate" right issue--but they can still "cop out" I think, in other ways. Last I heard, Kennedy was playing it close to the vest, not much indication which way he would go. Recall, he was the one who invoked the ...

From the lawyer again-- "reasonable restrictions" is kind of a term of art in this context, it indicates that there is a Constitutional right at stake, but proposed restrictions on that right only have to meet a low-level of scrutiny to survive--ie is the proposed restriction "rationa...

One note from a lawyer.. The Supremes intentionally narrowed the issue in this case as much as they could to limit the precedential value either way....

What I learned about my p-64 today . . .
It's not the size or shape of the safety that bothers me, it's the awkwardness of the upward push to "fire"... My thumb is trained to sweep a safety down I guess--so I carry my P64 like a DA revolver, one in the chute, safety off
