Newly Made P64 Mags - Coming Soon!
This bush league effort to capitalize on the need for P-64 mags has just pissed me off. These type of aftermarket mags are rarely reliable, and commencing with their introduction many moons ago, nothing looked legit. Buyer beware. I still haven't seen one post where anyone has had a problem with the...

Don Humes 715 IWB , any one using it
The Mak is a larger pistol than the P-64. The P-64 only has Makarov on the slide because of the 9x18 caliber. It's really more of a Walther PPK clone, so most have found that almost any PPK holster is perfect, including me. It's really easy to find bargains on EBAY by typing PPK holster in the searc...

P-64's in Pennsylvania?
rj,
Easiest way is to go to your local gun dealer and tell him you'll give him $15 to order you one from Southern Ohio Gun for $139 + $10 shipping. If you're a prior customer, and he wants to keep you, he'll do it.
Otherwise, you can troll on Gunbroker or Auction Arms.

P64 shooting stings my hand
jmak, both the good original flat grips, and the bad added left thumbrest grips, are black. Bet you have the latter, but let us know. If you do, you can solve the problem with the Zee grips reasonably. If you have the flat grips, you'll just have to check the grips for alignment, and make sure the g...

P64 VS PA-63
RJ, The mag release works just fine. The P-64 is a high quality milled steel product, which will outshoot and outlast the stamped alloy PA-63. Only reason the CZAK(P-64) is so cheap is because of the bad DA trigger pull, which can be remedied with a cheap spring change, or minimized with repeated us...

dickba, recommend you read as much of the board history as you can. It has everything you need to know about making your P-64 a first rate carry piece, with very little expense.

Zinger, Zee can vary the luster, and as you've probably seen, can do camo, two-tone swirls, and pretty much whatever you want. Any color you want. Ivory was pretty popular at the beginning. Price is very reasonable. He does use the original flat grips to make his molds, and does a great job with the...

Papabear, Ill be there with bells on! We plan to leave PA about 1 October. Should be a little cooler down there, by then. Will PM you an address and phone number. I'm about 15 minutes from the fairground, and would love to meet up with you before, during or after the show. What brings you to the FWB...

Thumbrest Grip
Thanks Papabear, Pretty much what I thought I'd hear. Haven't had any recoil, pinch, etc, problems with the original flat or Zee grips. Pretty much assumed that the ill-fitted thumbrest was the cause of most complaints. Like you, one of mine was hauled off by my NSA son, and the other kids are drool...

Thumbrest Grip
Just won my 4th Czak on Auction Arms for $126 shipped. Best deal yet, but it's a '73 with the infamous thumbrest grip. Haven't had one yet. Plan to replace with Zee grips when available, but is anybody still shooting theirs with the thumbrest? Wondered how much the recoil and bite complaints have ha...

Himmel, I'd try WD-40 first, with a little rubbing. Amazing what it can do.

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
Abwehr, great post. If Truth wants it "his way", that's his business. After this, I hope he stops trying to convince members who carry, to do so with a less effective version of this fine piece. And for those who plink only, shoot it the hard way, or make it more enjoyable. Your choice. Fo...

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
The gun was NOT designed to be this way. Read the history! Heavy spring was added to ignite hard primers on the only ammo they could get from Russia at the time. They were getting surplus machine gun ammo. If I carry, I WANT that DA pull option. Add an 18#, if you want the extra margin over the 16#....

Earliest model?
Przz,
These were made from 64 to 77. Earliest I know of imported are 67's. As I recall, dickfunk, the mastermind behind this board, has one. Most sold seem to be 68 to 76.
All thread sections have many pages that you can scan, and all questions I know of have answers in these old posts.
Enjoy,
Stan
