Normally, I love wood grips. I think they add class to most handguns. But I really like the standard grips on the P83.

Re: Suggestions for 22LR Practice Pistol
I have the PA22 with range kit (5" and 3" barrel) I bought at s gun show last year for about 150. I really like it and would buy another. I have heard about the plastic cracking under a lot of shots, but ive prob put 2000 through it and still looks fine. the safeties take a little getting...

Re: Suggestions for 22LR Practice Pistol
I bought a CO2 BB/Pellet "Walther PPK"
It can stand in reasonably well for most of my Makarov caliber handguns in size and shape and I can use it in my own garage.

Re: First Gun
I took my P64 to the range a few trips back, just to keep in practice with it. The Range Master was very friendly and I let him shoot a few rounds from it and my CZ52. He was surprised by both the heavy DA (and I've got the lighter spring!) and the very snappy recoil. So much so that he talked anoth...

Re: Brown Bear
My P64 doesn't like Brown Bear either. I tend to get LTS (Limp Trigger Syndrome) with it. What I found is that Brown Bear cases tend to be a few hundredths of a millimeter over length which engages the Out of Battery lockout. Every other brand of ammo I've shot in it works fine from Wolf range fodde...

I'm working with the aforementioned pawn to order one from SOG.
I have a small Makarov caliber gun collection and I want a P83 to fit in with that.

Yeah. Those are good deals. $250 is a good price on 'em lately, and especially in the last week.

Re: Polish P83 Wanad
Thanks for the links.
I already checked with one of my usual FFLs and he doesn't deal with SOG. I'm planning on stopping by a pawn, tonight, that I've done Transfers with before to see if they'll order.

Polish P83 Wanad
I'm seriously considering one. Gouger Mountain has them for ~$350. Seems a bit steep to me. I've googled around a bit but not found any decent prices at the usual suspects. J&G, AIM, don't seem to have 'em any longer. Suggestions?

Nice. What did you have to give for them, if you don't mind my asking?

All of the "PM" (Pistolet Makarov) handguns use the same design specs regardless of whether or not it's a Chinese Type 59 or a Bulgarian makarov.

Re: First Gun
I really love the P64, but just wanted y'alls opinion on it as a first gun. OK, you asked for my opinion, here it is. I don't think the P64 is a good "first gun." It makes a great CC gun but it's not so hot as a first gun. The recoil ranges anywhere from punishing to "stiff" dep...

Re: P64 strength
I only know of one blow-back 9x19 pistol that may still be around There have been any number of them over the years. Current production 9mm Luger handguns include the Hi Point C9 and the Jimenez JA9. (All of the Hi Point firearms are simple blow back operated, including the carbines, in 9mm Luger, ...

Re: P64 strength
OMG, its hard to believe that someone would put 9x19 ammo in a 9x18 pistol and shoot it, its just a matter of time till something bad happens to you or a unsuspecting shooter close to you....... I've seen YouTube of someone doing it with a PA-63. Not smart. Fortunately, not possible with a properly...
