Possible faulty P-64?

It's an interesting problem. I can reproduce the pencil flying out by flicking the hammer ONLY if I have the trigger held back all the way. So it would seem that frym's sear just isn't locking against the hammer correctly. Here's another good picture (shows the hammer fully cocked): http://i39.photo...

Possible faulty P-64?

I don't know if you've mentioned it, but how far back does your firing pin protrude from the safety (when set to "fire")?

I believe they should be almost flush. There was a thread on this way back when.

Possible faulty P-64?

PshootR is right, the experience of the original poster is indicative of a problem.

See the image below, it shows the relationship between the sear, trigger bar, and hammer:

Any chance of getting more details on how you did the camo grips, and also maybe bigger pictures? Maybe you could start a new thread, I'm sure others are interested too!

loose safety

My plunger was flat as well, I rounded it a little with a Dremel. That alone did not keep the safety from dropping, I needed a longer spring. No idea why my spring was not long enough to begin with.

loose safety

Here's the thread you want to read: http://p64.proboards67.com/index.cgi?board=fixes&action=display&thread=1133831696&page=1 You will have to take apart your safety, a couple things to look at are the shape of your plunger, and the spring (kinked, short, etc) I had the same problem you d...

P64 ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY/PARTS MANUAL

Nice, thanks!

What do you consider the most difficult/tricky part of the re-assembly?

Have you ever thought about becoming a hand model? :D

How often do you get to shoot?

Yes, you make some good points. I wouldn't want to get into that line either. Wish someone would though. It's all supply and demand. I was at "that range" the other day - I usually don't spend a long amount of time there, and with a few purchased targets I figure it costs $40/hour to shoot...

Your local indoor range needs some competition... >:(

Wonder what it would take to open one up, I'm sure I could undercut 'em!

Redesigned grips and replacement offer

stibnite, None of my grips on the P-64 have ever slipped around while shooting or any other time including the origianl flat grips, thumbrest grips, Zee's grips or Dennis's grips. To each their own though. If your qrips are slipping around maybe they need tighting or maybe changing your grip, but w...

Redesigned grips and replacement offer

Send Dennis an email requesting what you want, he'll tell you how much. Then you will have to use Paypal to pay him. I like the glued grip, it just seems a little more solid to me. I don't like the 2 halves (of the originals) slipping around. I don't have a problem installing or removing them (took ...

Painting Zee Grips?

Not sure if I want to invest TOO much in just painting a grip... think I could use a small brush and acrylic paint to achieve the same effect?

Not sure on the paint tho, maybe a hobby or craft store?

Painting Zee Grips?

I'm thinking of painting a set of my Zee Grips, maybe a desert camo. I read here somewhere that Krylon Fusion would work well, maybe use this as the base color first. Any ideas on what to use/how to paint the rest of the camo details? Anyone ever done this? Brush? Spray? How could I get/mix the colo...
