Re: Light strikes with bobbed hammer?
How far to you plan on shaving off/bobbing the hammer? If the idea is to prevent AD in case the pistols falls to the ground, then at least the back of hammer should be at level of the slide's edge, similar to the bobbed hammer of the S&W 3rd gens, correct? But with the P64 hammer, there's a hole...

Re: Range report
Just an idea, which I haven't tried, but how about a piece of inner tube glued to the backstrap? You could probably test it with double sided tape. Jim I use one. It doesn't need to be glued, cut the tube to size and insert it like you would a Houge Rubber grip. I added a piece of Dr Scholl's pad a...

Re: Increased magazine capacity
Or maybe, instead of cutting the OEM spring, try the ones for the Bersa 380's designed to hold 7 rounds, and cut that one instead? Maybe those currently made springs may have the design/tolerance different from the old P64 springs? At least if it doesn't work, you still have the OEM to fall back on....

Re: My P64 does have a hammer block
Which is why I asked, 'coz that part I was pointing at, is the only one that would look like its the one blocking the hammer when at rest. But that part per the parts diagram is the sear. http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1536 Snailman, you mentioned that its a notch on the bo...

TJ, I cant quite make up what you're referring to as "hammer block" On your pic, is it the one where the red arrow points at?

Re: Newbie with probably an old question on Wolff springs
Im also using the 18# spring. The mod I did was grinded both ends of the spring flat, from its original rounded form. The shaved metal, though miniscule, could have also reduced the spring tension. A lot better than going for the 17# spring which is too light on SA. I also polished the areas that ma...

Re: First Range Trip (Maiden Voyage)
I felt that the first time I shot a couple of mags, used a Hogue Jr grip the range was selling and it fix the issue. I didn't like how the Hogue grip has this bump of both sides, making the grip a bit fat to the touch, so I replaced it with the inner tube that was suggested on this forum.

Re: First Range Trip (Maiden Voyage)
That's probably from the snappy recoil of the pistol. Put a rubber grip sleeve like Hogue or Pachmayr, or even a bike's inner tube. I just use the inner tube and a Dr Scholls rubberized insert which I cut to fit the back/rear side of the pistol grip. It helps a lot.

Re: Another Spring Question
You should've gotten the Wolff package hammer springs so you can choose which one is right for you/pistol. I have the 18# spring and DA pull is good enough for me to have the pistol on condition one. There's been quite a few report online on the 17# causing the mag to drop while shooting. Check this...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
Not sure which videos you've watch, but this one is more informative - http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4200 All semi auto pistols (that I know) has firing pin spring. It keeps the pin from protruding the breech face. That small pin at the bottom of the mag is the end part of...

Re: Experienced opinions wanted
Why would you need a heavier trigger spring? It has nothing to do with what you're experiencing. Try this first. Disassemble your pistol completely, check here on how to: http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4200 Clean everything completely. When I first got mine, I soaked all th...

Re: P64 Slide not holding open
Hmn, those were the same factory ammos I tried, the first time I shot my P64. But the recoil spring I used was the 20# one. I've re-installed the stock spring, I shot over a hundred rounds of my reloads and I dont noticed any difference in felt recoil over the wolff spring I had before. Maybe you sh...

What aamo were you shooting? Try different ammo brands. I heard that the Prvi Partisan were a little on the weak side.

Re: hogue handall jr. grips constricting magwell
I bought one at the range, when I shot my P64 the first time. So I never did the hot water treatment. Never have any problem with inserting or dropping mags. I didn't like the swell on the mid section though, so I took it out after several range trip. If you're having issues with it being too tight,...
