Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo

Best: Sellier & Bellot (aka. S&B). Nice brass, I haven't had any FTE/FTF/etc. yet, and I use it almost exclusively for my P64 (until I start reloading). Only downside, a bit on the spendy side. But I personally count this in "get what you pay for" territory. Worst: Barnaul. Marked ...

Re: New Bren Ten

Oooooooooo... Time to get set up with my Ray-Ban and "Armani over t-shirt" look. 8) Too bad I don't have a sweet Ferrari to drive around while playing Crockett's theme. Then again, if I could afford a Ferrari... I probably wouldn't actually own one. I'd have built up my firearm collection ...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

I've lived in a large urban area since the early 60s. In that time I can't recall ever seeing a non-LEO open carrying a gun. If you OC in a store or a restaurant they'll probably ask you to leave. They might even call the cops. Sad but true. Life in the city. Salt Lake City may not be the biggest c...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

My P64 is still my "go to" for daily CC. While I can CC at work (at the University of Utah no less, I love me my Utah gun laws...), I want to CC as low profile as I can (while I'm fine legally, I'd rather not test the waters when it comes to "office politics"). The P64 does this ...

Reloading on a Size Budget

While some of the benches I've seen make me envious, I'm faced with the stark fact that I don't have the room for a full, dedicated work bench for reloading. So... any hints for a noob looking to start reloading in a space-restricted environment? I've seen portable reloading stations like the one sh...

Mosin Nagant Reduced Power Loads

What are actual bullet diameters for 7.62x25mm and 7.62x54R? I mean, if the diameters are close enough, why not reload 7.62x54R with the 7.62 Tok bullet, and change the powder load accordingly? In concept, that should be close to this blunt-nosed Czech (I believe) "practice round" for 7.62...

Safe Carry with chamber loaded?

The concern is not from the rear, but of the pistol landing on the muzzle end. The FP is free floating when the safety is off, and well you know....inertia. Inertia isn't enough to let the free-floating Bulgy Makarov firing pin to cause an AD, as the Bulgy Makarov was Republic of Kalifornia approve...

Safe Carry with chamber loaded?

... Sounds like, if I get a dog from my next J&G order (aka. internal parts gun), it's time to make a rig and try some drop testing out in BLM lands (desert). Maybe that could finally put the issue to rest. So, gentlemen, what would be the height? 20' might be pushing limits of what I could easi...

ammo for home protection?

00-buck in a 10 round magazine in the Saiga 12. Sure it's not the same sound as a traditional pump action, but an AK action makes a pretty satisfying sound when racked too. ;) Same 9x18 S&B FMJs in my P-64 as what I carry during the day; I'd rather have a bit of over penetration with an FMJ 9x18...

115 gr brown bear out of pa-63

The alloy frame of the PA-63 often shows scars of abuse a bit more readily than steel. If you're using a higher grain bullet, you run into the possibility of the slide abusing the frame more during recoil.

How did you find us?

Google. After coming across one in person and finding it interesting (I forget if it was a gun show or a local shop), I figured I'd do some research before actually buying.

1935 Browning Hp

Man... I mostly a 'blued' guy, but the more pics I see of Duane's hard chroming, the more I consider it trying it for one of my own.

Dead sexy HP there, Norm, especially considering how you first got 'er. How clear is the text on the left hand of the slide after the hard chroming?

P-83 or CZ-82?

While I enjoy my P-83... if it came down to a choice of "you can only choose one" I'd go with the CZ-82. The overall fit and feel of the CZ-82 just "works" better for me than the P-83. YMMV. That's, of course, the "you can only choose one" option. I find that the more 9...

Might be off-topic a bit, but... what about the watch? ;) Does it function? If so, where'd you pick it up?
