Re: taurus 1911 opinions?

Bought a Taurus when they first arrived locally for $450. It shoots and carries well, great gun especially for what I paid. Not a single issue in about 1000 rounds. I hope they get around to making a Commander or Officer size soon, in Titanium would be even better.

On mine the 18# spring drops the mag consistently, upped it to 19#. The trigger is workable in DA and sweet in SA.

Re: Question on the Hammer Position on P.83 Pistol.

Looks the same in every picture I can find of the gun. Pretty sure it has a rebounding hammer. You can test it without going to the range. Clear the gun and put a pencil, eraser first, down the barrel resting against the breech face. Point it in a safe direction and pull the trigger. If the pencil j...

Re: Question on the Hammer Position on P.83 Pistol.

Dont know for sure on the P83 (don't have one) but it is a pretty common safety feature. P64, PM, most Sig pistols and many others have a rebounding hammer. It strikes the firing pin when fired and bounces back to a safety notch so that it isn't resting on the firing pin.

When you add the second magazine, shipping and transfer fees you come out ahead. Plus you got to pick it -- sounds like a great deal to me. Congrats, I'm jealous.

Re: How to carry...

Condition 0. One is the chamber with safety off. On the belt, inside the belt or inside the pants in a cheap NRA belt slide holster: http://www.nrastore.com/nra/Product.aspx?productid=SA%20324%20BLK Or in the pocket with a Nemesis pocket holster. Used to use a clip-draw but it is on my Kel-Tec now. ...

Re: Barrel for CZ 82

Should have read the OP closer. Hopefully you'll find one. CZ list barrel replacement as a service so it is at least worth calling them. If there is another source, good chance somewhere here knows about it. Good luck!

You could buy one from CZ but it may be too pricey to consider. What's up with the barrel you have now?

Re: Broken Safety

Keep an eye on this forum too. A guy parted out his broken P64 on the board a few weeks ago. Never know, someone else might turn their misfortune into a boon for the boards.
