Any updates on recoil spring?

Mongo,

Could you elaborate? 1000 rds w/the new spring? What do you mean "polish the spring?"

No rush, callisto.

Take your time.

Just keep us posted, if you don't mind.

(And if you make one too many, keep me in mind.)

God bless and straight shooting,

TODAY IS OUR 230 YEAR OF INDEPENDENCE

Gentlemen, I've been out of town, enjoying the freedom dearly won by this nation's servicemen, but I echo Norm's fitting sentiment. To all who do or have served, I offer my humble and sincere thanks. And Stan, (Not that I would ever correct a man of your rank), but you don't know how much it means t...

Wow! What a sweet little piece...

You should be able to drift the sight over with a brass punch. Just be gentle and take it slow. Be careful not to over pressure it in the vise, either. If it doesn't "go like it should," stop and don't force it. Better to be patient than to break something. God bless and straight shooting,...

b52stan, Thanks for the info. Maybe that explains why it shoots so well with 95 grain ammo. I do wonder if a lighter bullet might have been involved earlier in the design and development phase, since the whole point of the "as issued" ammo was to be interchangeable in all sidearms, but tha...

Thanks, b52stan--good info on the bullet weight and recoil. Perhaps I should have explained more, since I was following a thread talking mainly about recoil, but my comment was referring to a different issue. I have been looking for a lighter weight bullet to try and duplicate the load that the p-64...

Thanks p64.

A few bursts from an m60--awesome! Love to give that a try some time!

Also love to try a Thompson in 45 acp. I think it would be cool just to HEAR the "Tommy gun" under fire.

I can dream, can't I?

CZAKboy, Is that 70 grain ammo the "powrball" (or whatever it was called) ammo you mentioned before? (i.e. really expensive defensive ammo.) If so, please report how it shot in the p-64. I think it was still a pretty hot load, something like 1200fps. I would love to get my hands on some of...

Ok, this is way off--not even about a pistol. I share this here purely because I think this is a group that appreciates quality milsurp--especially when it is somewhat overlooked. I recently moved to a new area, and started looking for a place to shoot. I stopped by an area gun club to meet some of ...

Jambing issues

Hey bzinggg, Where are you located? I would consider getting rid of my brown bear ans silver bear if you were close. I have pretty much become a believer that hand loaded brass ammo is the way to go in my p-64. (I have really enjoyed handloading for many reasons, and this is a perfect example. I can...

Some Observations

Norm,

That is a very kind offer!

I am currently shooting 95 grain cast bullets, though I don't do the casting. If yours are lighter, I would love to try them.

Minor correction: SOG is still selling them for $139 (plus shipping & fees, of course), but with only ONE mag at the moment. Mine just came in a few days ago. (I rooted around in the box for a good minute before I read the fine print in the ad.) Good thing my first one came with three . . . -Kem...

Some Observations

Norm,

I know about the 95 grain bullet mould, though I don't yet cast my own. I was wondering about a lighter bullet, in the 70 grain range. Ideally, I would like to try a jacketed bullet, but cast may be the only practical option.

God bless and straight shooting,
