Can't resist bragging . . .

Thanks guys. Heck, I bought the pistol on a lark, because I was Polish and because of the price. I thought it would be one of those novelty guns that I could pull out of the safe every now and then and say, ". . .but have you ever seen one of these?" Maybe I'd even shoot it occasionally, b...

Can't resist bragging . . .

Went to the range yesterday and took some of my "custom" target ammo--95gr lead bullet over 3.3gr Hodgdon Universal powder. Shot a 1" group, standing, at about 21 feet. That was with trimmed luger brass, random headstamp, and I wasn't even really trying for the best group. (As I said,...

Any updates on recoil spring?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone had heard from Wolff on a recoil spring for the p-64. I know that some of you have been in touch. (I have been waiting to order my hammer spring on the theory/hope/dream that they would have a recoil spring soon.)

New safe purchase questions

Talon, Personally, I would leave it on the pallet for the time being, since you are going to have it in your garage. (Particularly if you think you might move it again!) Since it will not be climate controlled, there will probably be some moisture condensation on the concrete. Plus parking cars in w...

Defensive Ammo

By the way, I read devlinfaust's old post that the Hornady ammo doesn't feed reliably in his p-64. I have never had a SINGLE failure to feed in mine with any hornady ammo--factory or handload. (A very big part of the reason I use it for carry.) It is interesting how individual pistols can differ.

Defensive Ammo

Does anyone happen to know if the corbon or golden sabre bullets are available for reloading? One of the reasons I like the Hornady ammo for carry, aside form the informal ballistics tests I have run on expansion, is the availability of components for reloading. That way I can actually afford to pra...

Ballistics "Test"

Have you ever fooled with the Hornady XTP bullets? I have recovered them--unscientifically, of course--expanded to the size of a quarter and almost as flat. They definitely do what they are designed to do. I have a few of them on my reloading bench; they open up just like a flower. I don't have the ...

Handguns in a Stress Situation

Hey guys, Don't mean to butt in on the conversation. I'm just one of the many who wants to offer a respectful and sincere "thanks" for your service. Seriously. I am grateful to you and the other brave men like you who risked so much in the service of others. Christ is Risen! God bless and ...

How can I mark my brass?

Hi guys--technical question. I am a reloader and am very pleased with the results I get loading for the p-64 and Makarov, respectively. The problem is brass, or rather the lack of it. I am planning to trim down a whole bunch of 9x19 brass, but I would like to have a good way to mark it, since it wil...

How do you carry?

Sorry I joined the discussion late here, but when I picked up my p-64 at the shop about a year ago, I found a Don Hume leather IWB holster (H715 M No. 13) for about twenty bucks. It fits the p-64 like it was made for it, and makes a very compact, comfortable package.

p-64 target load

Hi gang, Just thought I would post my latest in the quest for the "perfect" p-64 load. My wife and I were out yesterday and shot up about 100 rounds of 95gr lead bullets over 3.3gr Universal. I was very pleased with the results. The pistol shot very comfortably, ejecting the brass at a con...

Abwehr-- Apparently they are selling them with an arched housing now. Lucky for me. p64-- I did field strip it, and I got it back together . . . although it was a learning experience. I would appreciate any tips you have. I like this pistol! I think a trigger job is the ONLY thing I would consider g...

9mm mak stopping power vs 38 special?

Hey Saands,

You mentioned working up loads for the 95 gr. xtp. Would you mind posting your data? What powder got you that velocity? How well did the lighter loads shoot? Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

HAND LOADING 9x18 MAK ROUND

Thanks for the data! I don't cast my own--at least not yet--but I am always interested in the info.

Have you tried these loads in the p-64?

By the way, Abwehr, is the mainspring housing you are talking about on the bottom rear of the grip? If so, the RIA I just received has an arched housing. (If so, maybe that's why I thought it felt "right.") Perhaps they have changed this since you got yours. Then again, I may have my parts...
