Straight wall chamber bore steel vs brass
I use a lot of steel cased ammo as mentioned above. I use the term barrel because the chamber is part of the barrel. However, I stand corrected, the chamber is what I was referring to. I used to pay 5.50/50 steel cased zinc coated Russian rounds. I paid 8/50 for S&B brass. I mentioned this befor...

Straight wall chamber bore steel vs brass
I think the 2 factors for barrel wear are metal hardness and the coefficient of friction. I work in engineering and I'm often forced to look into material properties, but I'm not a materials expert. The numbers below should be somewhat accurate, but I only spent a few minutes getting the data for co...

I think that is too high. I picked mine up 10 months ago. It depends on the version though. There are 2 types. If you get the special eagle version, it is worth more. I got combination of the 2 in the photos below.Mine has the side markings of the special eagle version, but not the adjustable sight....

OT - Stoeger Cougar 8000
I have heard that the Stoeger Cougar is just the same as the Beretta of the same name. I read that parts are completely interchangable. Highly recommended in private posts I've read. I can't verify all of this because I don't have one. CDNN has an awesome price on these. I Read up on it because my r...

Hey all, I buy from AIM mainly too for ammo but they are out of HP. IF you have a problem scanning your license, I believe cheaper than dirt does a phone verification process and validates via credit card. They are the only dealer online that I've been able to just buy over the phone with.... They a...

new magazine break-in?
Those magazines are the NEW manufacture mags that have been advertised in posts on this site. They are being distributed through keepshooting.com. I read about them. I believe the new manufacturer is just trying to do everything possible to make sure they work ok for you. I have heard of guys using ...

Off-Topic: SOG Zastava
Um...dunno what to say except the age of the pistol doesn't matter. Almost all online vendors are using the antique standard. As mentioned, I have no interest in defending SOG. The standards I posted, or close to them per the NRA antique standard, are what is being used for almost all online vendors...

Off-Topic: SOG Zastava
I think that everyone should read the NRA antique standard descriptions before buying surplus firearms. I've seen so many complaints like this. I think SOG should post the standards they are using for buyers to read in advance. The NRA antique standard is what EVERY online seller whether an auction ...

Looks like you have the more hollow follower on the left above. The right looks like the more sold frame follower, though I can't tell for sure. Anyhow, it looks like the hollower framed follower on the left is bent inward. I could be wrong, but I examined this very closely on mine since I have both...

S&B is my favorite due to the brass casings and reliability of this brand in 9x18. I think they used to have a bad rep many years ago. Some Winchester is actually S&B, some is US made, just look at the box for country of manufacture to tell the difference on Winchester 9x18. I had bad luck w...

Photobucket makes the links for you to so you can let people jump to the photos or make the picture appear here.... http://p64.proboards67.com/index.cgi?board=web...

SOG p-64 mags
My SOG CZ82 came in the promised condition. The exterior is rough, but the finish on these is prone to chipping since they are not blued. The polymer coating is explained on the CZ website in their FAQ section. I am considering getting an AIM or mak dot com CZ82 since they both sell grades of the pi...

SOG p-64 mags
SOG is very strange about FFL stuff. They won't send you a flyer unless you have an FFL. However, they will let you order non-firearm items like ammo or holsters. I found this out on my last order of a holster from them. I think they hire really bad phone representatives who know little to nothing a...

abwehr , SOG doesn't post half of the items they sell on their website. They have a flyer but only distribute it to dealers. My FFL guy gave me a copy of his. SOG definitely sells the holster by itself, but the holster is very small. I think it needs a lot of work to resize it because the leather on...
