I understand that LEE will make custom bullet moulds, but I am not personally set up for casting. (In fact, I've never done it, and wouldn't know where to begin.)
Any expert help available?
Any sources of old surplus bullet in Poland?
This could be interesting . . .

Sebastian, I don't know what to tell you as far as price--in the end any pistol is worth what you can get someone to pay you for it--but I wouldn't feel too bad about it. It is still a good quality pistol for the money. If you are not pressed to sell it right now, Abwehr is convinced (and I agree) t...

Beavertail?
Callisto, I have to say that I am with you on this. The pistol doesn't "need" a beavertail, and I am a believer (along with b52stan) that the 100+ grain loads are just too hot, but I think my hands are just a little bigger than optimal for this pistol. I have no problem shooting it, but if...

Some Observations
Hey gang, Just picked up p-64 #2 yesterday; a beautiful, new, twin of the 1975 that I already owned. (Congratulations--you made me do it!) I took the time to read through the little manual that came with it and found that, having a little experience this time, I noticed a few things that I had misse...

This may be stating the obvious, but if so it is also a happy ending . . . If you said it cycles fine when you shoot it, then there is no problem. If it does not cycle manually, it may be because you need to pull it ALL THE WAY back, and then LET IT SNAP back to battery. If you only pull it back par...

Hey Darrell, Don't forget to take into account that this is probably a "new" gun, and needs to be broken in. My first few times I took mine to the range, I was afraid that I had wasted my money on a "lemon." With a little usage, however, it broke in to the point where it feeds re...

Radom Polish P-64
Welcome, 45fanatic, Ditto to what many of the guys have said. The p-64 started out with a lot of negative chatter mostly--I think--because they were purchased by people who thought they were getting a Makarov. No one likes the feeling of a "bait and switch," and so it was first evaluated o...

Hey guys,
Anyone interested in picking up one of these Rock Islands, the prices are definitely going up. Still a great buy for the money. Every time I take mine out, I am more satisfied with the purchase. Shoots VERY well.
God bless,
-Kempin

By the way,
Speaking of prices going up, I noticed that the Rock Island 1911's at Sarco went up $25. Glad I bought mine when I did.

Well, I ordered one. SOG was the last remaining place I saw them for $139, unissued. (Most dealers now have them in the $165 range) $20 shipping and $15 transfer, and I can't complain. I only wish I had the money to buy more, buy hey, I'm not a dealer or an investor. I hope to get many years of use ...

Ok, guys, I need some assistance. No, it has nothing to do with technical knowledge or shooting experience--it is purely psychological. My problem is this: Don't have much money for gun stuff right now, and what I did have was spent on a 1938 Mosin Nagant 91/30. (Shoots like a dream, by the way.) I ...

Hawkerjim had an interesting thought: Will the continued use of over-powered ammo in the p-64 erode the rear of the chamber? I really don't know enough to make an intelligent guess. I know that the use of "hot" ammo in magnum revolvers can erode the forcing cone over time, and I know (wasn...

Hey Abwehr, Cool site! I spent a couple of hours taking it in. The only thing more fun would have been to be there at the range and see the water sprays. Interesting too, though. I think the biggest surprise for me as far as "conventional" wisdom was the penetration of the .357 mag. Very c...

Can't resist bragging . . .
In the interest of honesty . . . . . . I took the target out of my range bag and actually measured. The group was more like 1 1/4". (They were all touching the center 1" circle. I'm not really sure how to measure an "official" group size.) Don't get me wrong--I'm still as pleased...
