Re: Help
Sounds like you reassembled it incorrectly. Make sure the hammer strut is sitting in the right spot.

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
Spring force depends on how compressed it is. 22# means when you compress it 1/2", you get 11 lbs of static force. 2" means 44lbs. Friction also varies proportionally, but to the load. Put 10 lbs of force on a cartridge, and if mu is 0.2, you get 2 lbs of static friction to overcome. What ...

Re: .380 Bbl. For P64
Why lay down insults? There was definitely a time, not all that long ago, where ammo was very scarce, and there were threats about cutting off imports. AFAIK all of the 9x18 ammo out there is imported, mostly from Russia and other former Soviet bloc countries. Sounds to me like Bubba may be smarter ...

Importer stamp. I thought I'd read that every firearm imported is supposed to have it in some form, although perhaps yours were imported before that regulation went into effect.

Re: grip options.
New to the forum, but I have been reading posts on here. I mean, alot. Anyways, my question is to those who have modified there grips. I cannot decide what to do with mine. I'm not a fan of wood grips, but I do like the zee grips with the thumb rest, but I also looked at the hogue sleeve and the gr...

Re: Ruger 22/45 Love/Hate
Yeah, having taken down a MkIII, I know what you mean. I also hated how dirty the action inside would get. They left EVERYTHING exposed to the blowback gases and debris, so the trigger and safety would get gritty after a few shots.

Re: Power of the Makarov round
...except the p64 was designed for a 94gr round, and running something this much larger is likely going to result in damage or catastrophic failure. So "far superior" if you ignore all of its flaws.

Re: Shooting the P64
It's more than likely your trigger finger isn't lined up ideally on the trigger. As you depress it, it's pushing slightly to the left. As your finger contracts, the extra segments have to fold up. Try moving the pad of your trigger finger a little more over the trigger.

Re: What is #6, what's it do?
Translates to something along the lines of:
"opening for retention screw"
EDIT: I revised the above, it has the word "safety" in there, but they meant more along the lines of a retention screw, not the gun's safety

Re: 25-pound double action trigger pull
And besides if you REALLY REALLY NEED to fire it in DA mode, think life or death here, you will pull through that 26 pound trigger pull so quick you won't even feel it. OR the recoil. GA-run-teed. No guarantees. The problem is that once a spring gets to a certain stiffness level, the harder you pul...

Re: V.04 grip with grip screw
Like the OP, I just lined up the old grip with the new, and drilled through the hole in the old grip to get the new one where it needed to be. I just did this with a hand drill, and it went together perfectly. Just don't stab your fingers with a spinning drill bit.

Re: V.04 grip with grip screw
It's a couple months late, but I finally finished modding the ones I received as well. Instead of using a rotary tool, I just used a razor to shave the material around the trigger mechanism to match the original grips. I also drilled (1/8" I believe) a grip screw hole, and countersunk it with a...

Re: Brutal Recoil
Recoil springs aren't intended to reduce what you feel...they are designed to match the load in the ammo. If you fire a higher-power round, you need a stiffer recoil spring. If you fire a weaker round, you need a softer spring. The idea is to keep the slide from slamming too hard into the stops, whi...
