Re: P64 RECOIL

Oh, I'm not interested in chasing down empty steel berdan cases, just thought the slide might be battering things with the stock spring. And maybe a little recoil reduction. It seemed to make a big difference in my Maks. When I first shot the P-64, the Safety Catch broke in half. Thinking this migh...

Re: P64 RECOIL

Not to kick the dead horse here but I just ordered my first P64.... Please update this thread with the results you get as a first time shooter of P-64. Looks like most think recoil is harsh and a few say not bad. The wife usually shoots around 8 full mags from the P-64 during a shooting session. Th...

Re: P64 RECOIL

Love my P64 It has some recoil but shoot a 500 Smith & Wesson magnum. My Smith wil make you appreciate the P64 Same here. I guess after seeing a lot of people complain that a 500 recoil is so bad that they sell it after 1 shot, and seeing as I can regularly shoot 40 rounds at a time, (even the ...

Thanks

Re: P64 RECOIL

Really, you guys think recoil is that bad? Full bore 357's? The only two others I have with sorta similar recoil are a CZ27 7.65 (32acp) and a Hi-Point 40 S&W. The 32 kicks a little less, and the 40 S&W (full size frame, heavy and longer 4.5" barrel) kicks about the same. I do have a Ho...

Re: P64 RECOIL

The recoil is bad compared to a .22 The recoil is not bad at all compared to similar sized guns that weigh less. With more than a dozen guns to choose from, the P-64 is my 51 year old wife's favorite, so if she has no problem (and actually like's it), I would guess anyone should have no problem. Sma...

Re: Buldged Cases

No problem with cut down nickel plated 9x19 +P brass. You can buy the +P nickel "once fired" online cheap, (1000 Winchester +P Luger for $56 shipped at brassman, ready for you to cut to 9x18 size), and being nickel, it is easier to find 20 yards away. Not sure if the +P helps, but it sure ...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

Bought 500 of the BP bullets, and that's all I've shot through the P-64. Need to finish them off. All other guns have seen lead, and some have only seen lead. This is the only one never to have seen lead (from me). Also use Missouri bullets in other guns, and they work well. But on to the next phase...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

Just a quick update on the P-64, not a replacement for it. Went to the range and this time I was the one that did most of the P-64 shooting. After 3 mags to get used to the P-64 again, and a lot of concentration, I was able to consistently get 2" groups (full 6 round mags) at 10 yards standing....

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

RobsTV I don't think there is anything better new or old , most of the modern guns are plastic to make them light ,and when they make them that small and light they just aren't that accurate , 7 yards is where most gun fights are , also most people don't want to be shot with anything NORM Luckily, ...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

I'll admit that I don't shoot the P-64 much anymore, since the wife took it over, and I usually bring a half dozen other guns to the range that keep me busy. No one in our party ever shoots the P-64 from a bench, always free standing two handed. Heck, now it looks like if half the shots hit an 8&quo...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

Don't get me wrong. The P-64 is very accurate. Better than 4" groups at 10 yards. 3" is probably the norm with occasionally better than that. Of course not as accurate as 4.5"+ handgun barrels though, which I also own. So compared to other guns I own, it is not as accurate. With anoth...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

you can get a FEG R61 its lighter than the P-64 shoots a 9x18 almost the same size, I don't like the 380, NORM That looks promising. A lighter P-64 type. You don't like the FEG R61 380, or 380's in general? There is a FEG R61 380 offered near me at what looks like a reasonable price. The original 3...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters

No Norm, I have not even thought of that one. Will check it out. Was really hoping for something around the power of the 9x18, which would be near a 380 acp. I guess to simplify the accuracy standard I am looking for is the ability to usually hit an 8" target at 25 yards around 1/2 the time. If...
