Who carries to Church
It's like this. If the preacher has made it clear to you personally that you are not to carry, then I wouldn't. Regardless of the law, if it was his wish then it is his house. However, if he has not made it clear to you personally, and has not posted the sign, then it is legal to carry. There is an ...

Who carries to Church
From the Texas Deartment of Public Safety - effective notice according to 30.06 will be a posted sign. I would say from this and the other language that it is legal to carry in a Church in Texas if they have not posted this sign. PROHIBITING HANDGUNS IN A BUSINESS OR OTHER ENTITY In order to provide...

Range with new P64
Pain tolerance is a peculiar and individual thing. Some folks are born with dampened nerve endings and some are born with "raw" nerve endings. I have a pretty high pain tolerance - walked around on a broken ankle for two weeks once before it swole up so bad that I had it x-rayed. My brothe...

Probably depends on what 30.06 defines as "effective notice" , and I don't have that to review.

Who carries to Church
(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.
That is the part I was referring to. As I read this, if a Church does not post a 30.06 sign then it is legal to carry there.
Agree or disagree?

Who carries to Church
Mongo: I was re-reading the Texas CHL laws again last night. These are for 2003-2004 that I have. Unless it has changed since then, what it said is that you can not carry into a church, if a 30.06 sign is posted. The way I read it is that if a church does not post the proper sign, you can carry ther...

Sight Enhancement
That reminds me of the instinctive shooting style we were taught in Army basic training in 71. They were trying to teach us to fire instinctively when in a sudden fire-fight and not waste time trying to use the sights. This was with AR-15s, not pistols. They drilled us with bb guns and round flat al...

Cheap Slip on Grip
I like the idea, I also like the idea of a rubber slip on grip. I am thinking though that since I carry in my front pocket, that the rubber might "grab" on the inside of the pocket when pulling it out. Anyone with experience with this?

Volume makes better sense than weight, I agree. Weight doesn't tell you much due to the various materials that might be involved, but volume is volume. What about volume divided by the effectiveness formula posted above? Anyone here good enough with math to do the numbers on the P-64 and say Bulgari...

Better then a Makarov? Possible
My CZAK is a niche gun. It fits the niche of a gun I can easily carry concealed, quality construction, powerful and accurate. It is not much fun to shoot, but it doesn't need to be for this niche. The Mak is more of a generalist gun - it has all of the above qualities except that it is not as easily...

The Religion of Handguns
A simple method might be to divide the loaded weight of the pistol in grams by diameter of the bullet in mm. Leavin out velocity or bullet weight as there are too many variables there. The P-64 would be 678/9 = 75 I don't have any other gun stats handy, but say if you had a 10mm pistol that weighed ...
